About the role

The Industrialization Project Manager will lead the end-to-end setup of a new production facility, from initial planning and layout design through to commissioning and full serial production. This role involves coordinating across engineering, supply chain, and quality departments to ensure efficient manufacturing flows and robust quality systems are established.

What they look for

Project management Manufacturing Production planning Lean methodologies Quality systems Process design Supply chain coordination Budget management Risk management Commissioning Ramp-up Cross-functional leadership Continuous improvement Stakeholder management Safety standards

Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager with a proven track record in building or ramping up complex manufacturing facilities. Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, process design, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines in a safety-critical industrial environment are essential.

Full description

Wind power is growing, in every sense of the word. Modvion designs and develops a patented modular wind turbine tower made of laminated wood, engineered to reach higher altitudes and unlock wind resources previously out of reach. Laminated wood, nature's carbon fibre, enables efficient logistics for tall towers while substantially cutting the carbon footprint of wind power.

We have proven our technology through unique, single tower projects. The next step is building the physical foundation for serial production: a new factory designed from the ground up for repeatable, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing.

The role

As Project Manager for our new factory, you will lead the build-out of Modvion's first volume production facility, from planning and design through commissioning and ramp-up to full serial production. Your focus is production, quality, and manufacturing: designing efficient production flows and processes, establishing robust quality systems, and making sure the factory is built to produce wooden wind turbine towers reliably, safely, and at scale from day one.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end project management role at the centre of Modvion's transition from project-based manufacturing to series production. You will work closely with the Head of Operations and coordinate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and HR to get the factory, its processes, and its people ready for production.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end setup of a new production facility, from planning and layout design through commissioning and ramp-up
  • Design and implement efficient production lines, manufacturing flows, and material flows for serial production
  • Establish quality control systems and processes in line with relevant standards, tailored for series production
  • Implement Lean methodologies and continuous improvement routines to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and stabilize quality
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering on factory layout, tooling, and installation of production equipment
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of production staff and factory leadership ahead of start-up
  • Manage project budget, timeline, and risk through construction, commissioning, and ramp-up towards both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure workplace environment, safety, and certification requirements are built into the factory from day one
  • Report progress, risks, and key decisions to the Head of Operations and other stakeholders

Who you are

You are an experienced project manager who has led the build-out or ramp-up of a production facility before, ideally in a complex, capital-intensive, or safety-critical manufacturing industry. You understand production flows and process design at a detailed level, and you know what it takes to turn a factory floor plan into a working, high-quality manufacturing operation.

Like the rest of Modvion, you are not defined by prestige. You are just as comfortable walking the factory floor with contractors and production staff as you are presenting project status to leadership, and you combine structured planning with the drive to solve practical problems as they come up.

  • Proven experience leading the build-out or ramp-up of a production facility or manufacturing line
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing flows, process design, and Lean methodologies
  • Solid understanding of quality systems and certification requirements
  • Structured, hands-on project management skills, with the ability to manage budget, timeline, and risk
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken

Wishlist

  • Experience from wood, timber, or other engineered-material manufacturing
  • Experience from the wind power industry or another capital-intensive industrial sector
  • Background in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement frameworks

We look forward to hearing from you!
