Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst - Torrance, CA - 2381326

EMPLOYER: Optum Care, Inc.

JOB TITLE: Sr Business Intelligence Data Analyst

LOCATION: 19191 S. Vermont Avenue, Torrance, CA (Reports to the Torrance, CA office. May telecommute.)

DUTIES: Develop complex business intelligence solutions and support data strategy leveraging acquired subject matter expertise to identify/inform opportunities/risks; develop complex dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data analysis; improve the delivery and management of risk adjustment programs by utilizing advanced analytics, including but not limited to advanced algorithms, data visualizations, and maps; develop and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts used to create tables, views, and data marts in SQL Server, Snowflake; participate in project discussions to document and recommend alternative technical solutions or requirements; participate in units, integration, and system testing; maintain effective communication and relationships with all individuals involved with the project; gather business requirements and prepare analyses based on information from internal and external sources to evaluate and demonstrate program effectiveness and efficiency supporting projects and change requests; perform peer-reviews and provide technical support or guidance to the project team; forecast and plan resource requirements. Authorize deviations from standards; lead functional or segment teams or projects; provide explanations and information to others on the most complex issues; motivate and inspire other team members; support the project manager and leadership in project planning and executing activities, including presentations, risks or issues, and status reporting; demonstrate deliverables to the team or the customers for approval and gain buy-in to implement solutions or adapt to new products/services/programs; and work with DBAs, data modelers, and application/system admins to support maintaining the processes and leading industry level standards or best practices. Reports to the Torrance, CA office. May telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or Data Analyst- related occupation.

Experience must include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain complex MS Power BI dashboards, MS Power Pivot dashboards, SSRS dashboards visualizations, and analytics;
  • Develop complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions and views;
  • ETL solutions with SSIS;
  • Data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks or Azure;
  • Analyze and deliver complex analytics using Medicare and enrollment data for Medicare Risk Adjustment;
  • Scripting tools such as Python or Batch Scripting to support data analysis, troubleshooting and ETL automation; and
  • Work with Provider Portals or EMRs.

RATE OF PAY: $158,808 per year
