Position: Software Engineer, (C++ or Python)

Location: Cluj, Romania (Hybrid)

The Riverbed NetProfiler and Flow Gateway product family analyse millions of network flows every minute, saving the data in a highly optimized proprietary database and performing real-time analysis. Real-time analytics detect network operations and security anomalies to alert network administrators before customers are calling for help. With highly configurable dashboards and flexible traffic reporting capabilities, NetProfiler is a go-to network visibility tool for network managers at Fortune 500 companies around the world.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, high energy Software Engineer to join the team and contribute to the design and implementation of our NPM products.

What you will do

Work with product management and multiple engineering teams to deliver and maintain new data reporting and analysis capabilities in the product• Learn our customer workflows to design and implement solutions providing insightful data to answer their questions, while providing the best possible user experience over large data sets• Solve complex performance issues where analysis of the situation and/or data first requires an in-depth evaluation• Implement new designs and infrastructure as well as optimize and extend the existing solutions

What makes you an ideal candidate

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, or Engineering• 2+ years of hands-on development experience, preferably in a Linux environment• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed systems• Demonstrated experience with high-level programming languages such as C++ or Python• Good understanding of database technologies such as ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, etc• Good communication and organizational skills; able to prioritize work, ask clarifying questions, and work effectively with guidance and feedback

Nice to have:• Networking domain knowledge with technologies such as: TCP/UDP, SSL/TLS, SNMP, VoIP, NetFlow, SDN, VPN, tunnels, routing, switching, and NAT• Experience with public cloud offerings such as AWS or Azure• Hands-on experience using GenAI-powered developer tools like Cursor and Copilot as part of day-to-day software development.
