As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to strengthen our technology team and help shape the future of our cloud infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to join a growing technology company where you'll have real ownership over infrastructure that supports business-critical services used across the Nordic retail market. You'll work in a highly collaborative engineering team where your ideas matter, and your work has a visible impact.

If you're passionate about containers, automation and modern DevOps practices, and you enjoy solving real production challenges, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Your role

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll join our technology team in Helsinki and work closely with developers to build, operate and evolve our cloud platform. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work with Linux-based production environments, container technologies and a modern private cloud infrastructure built on microservices. You'll help improve automation, reliability and monitoring capabilities while supporting distributed IoT solutions used across the Nordics.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll:

  • Build, maintain and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes/Docker Swarm
  • Maintain and troubleshoot primarily Linux-based production environments, while also supporting Windows systems when needed
  • Monitor, investigate and improve platform reliability using tools such as ELK Stack, Prometheus and similar technologies
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab to enable reliable and automated deployments
  • Improve infrastructure automation, security and operational best practices
  • Collaborate closely with software developers in an Agile environment to support application delivery
  • Support the continuous evolution of our cloud platform as our products and customer base grow.

What we're looking for

You'll bring solid DevOps experience, a practical mindset and the curiosity to continuously improve the way modern infrastructure is built and operated.

You likely have:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or a similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
  • Solid Linux administration and scripting skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as ELK Stack, Prometheus or Zabbix
  • A good understanding of networking, infrastructure and production environments
  • Professional working proficiency in English

It's considered an advantage if you also have experience with:

  • DevSecOps and infrastructure security
  • Web servers (nginx or Apache)
  • Reverse and forward proxies
  • Load balancers such as HAProxy, Cloudflare or F5 BIG-IP
  • Microservices architectures
  • Programming with technologies such as Node.js, PHP or JavaScript
  • Finnish and/or Swedish language skills

Don't worry if you don't tick every single box. If you have a solid DevOps background, enjoy working with modern infrastructure and are eager to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Why you'll enjoy working at EWQ Zone

You'll join a technology team of approximately ten professionals, including a dedicated DevOps team, where engineers work closely together and technical ideas are genuinely valued.

You'll collaborate with experienced colleagues, receive architectural support when needed and have the opportunity to influence technical decisions in a low-hierarchy environment. The team's working language is English, and continuous learning and knowledge sharing are part of everyday work.

What we offer

  • Hybrid work (3 days at the office, 2 remotely)
  • Competitive salary (€4,000–5,500/month)
  • Continuous learning and professional development
  • A collaborative engineering culture with low hierarchy
  • Comprehensive employee benefits, including
  • Lunch benefit
  • Occupational healthcare (incl. dental care)
  • Company phone
  • Life insurance
  • Culture & sports benefit
  • HSL commuting benefit
