This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Scientist - Visa Consulting & Analytics based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced analytics to strategic challenges across payments, credit cards, and retail banking. As part of a specialized data science team, you will deliver analytics projects that help clients improve growth, profitability, customer engagement, and portfolio performance. You’ll work with diverse datasets, analytical methodologies, and modern data science tools to turn complex information into actionable business strategies. The role combines technical depth with consulting, stakeholder engagement, and data storytelling. You’ll collaborate with client teams while bringing analytical best practices and innovative approaches to complex business problems. Accountabilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end data analytics projects for clients, translating business challenges into actionable analytical strategies and solutions.
  • Develop and support credit card portfolio strategies using client data, payments data, third-party sources, and other relevant datasets.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify opportunities for growth, profitability, customer acquisition, engagement, and portfolio management.
  • Act as a data analytics advocate with client and partner teams, advising stakeholders and sharing relevant analytical methodologies, best practices, and case studies.
  • Explore new data sources, analytical tools, technology platforms, infrastructure, and potential analytics partnerships to strengthen solution capabilities.
  • Research and apply leading analytics methodologies, adapting successful approaches and insights from other markets to address client challenges.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations and compelling data-driven narratives.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and effectively manage internal and external communications throughout project delivery.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, statisticians, consultants, and other specialists to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high standards of analytical quality, accuracy, and client service.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve analytical approaches and unlock additional business value from data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience applying analytics and statistical techniques to solve business problems, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to generate measurable business value and support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience in credit card analytics and/or retail banking analytics is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more analytics and programming technologies such as SAS, Hadoop, R, SQL, Python, or Hive.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to approach complex problems creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent presentation and data storytelling skills, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to translate technical and analytical findings into practical recommendations for business and client stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working directly with internal and external partners.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Curiosity about the banking, payments, and cards industries, combined with a strong interest in applying data to business challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with data science communities and cross-functional analytical teams.
  • Client-centric mindset, strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
