Job Summary
Supports Disney Direct-To-Consumer SEA financial planning, reporting, subscriber and KPI analytics, content investment tracking, and content accounting activities. Responsible for ownership and maintenance of key planning and reporting workbooks, consolidated P&L models, forecasting templates, subscriber and KPI reporting files, content tracking databases, and management reporting tools used to support quarter-end close activities, forecasting cycles, business performance analysis, and financial decision-making. Partners closely with the Content Acquisition team to support content investment planning and tracking while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data across financial systems, planning models, and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Consolidate financial data from SAP, financial reporting systems, planning templates, and operational data sources into centralized planning and reporting models.
- Support Forecast, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Long Range Plan (LRP) processes through preparation, maintenance, and validation of planning workbooks, schedules, and supporting analyses.
- Manage operating expense reporting and planning, including incorporation of overheads and benefits allocations, and other non-content costs.
- Review and validate financial results to ensure expenses are accurately captured, categorized, and reported across departments, cost centers, and markets.
- Perform financial analysis and Cause of Change (CoC) analysis to explain movements between Actuals, Forecast, Budget, and prior periods.
- Maintain and enhance financial reporting files and management reporting tools (SAP, Cognos, and related systems).
Content Finance & Acquisition Support
- Partner with the Content Acquisition team to support the planning, tracking, and financial management of content investments.
- Maintain content tracking files, title databases, and supporting schedules used for content planning and financial reporting.
- Review content preparation budgets and associated spend tracking.
- Monitor content commitments, contractual payment schedules, cash flow requirements, and forecast impacts.
- Support financial analysis of content investments through tracking of spend, commitments, forecast changes, and title-level reporting requirements.
- Assist with preparation of recurring content reporting used to support forecasting, planning, and management reviews.
Content Accounting & Financial Analysis
- Review quarterly actual results relating to content amortization and content expense recognition.
- Perform amortization recalculations when methodologies, title forecasts, or amortization curves are updated.
- Conduct Cause of Change (CoC) analysis to explain key movements in content expenses and financial results.
- Support content-related reporting requirements during quarter-end close, forecasting cycles, and planning activities.
- Investigate content-related variances and prepare supporting analyses for finance and accounting stakeholders.
- Maintain supporting schedules used for content accounting, planning, and financial reporting activities.
Subscriber & KPI Reporting
- Prepare and distribute weekly Disney+ subscriber reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor subscriber trends and prepare recurring performance summaries used in management reporting.
- Update subscriber tracking models and KPI reporting files across Southeast Asia markets.
- Provide ad hoc analysis of subscriber metrics and operational drivers to support business performance reviews.
Forecasting Tools, Reporting Infrastructure & Process Support
- Maintain key forecast submission templates, consolidated planning workbooks, and recurring reporting files used across the finance team.
- Support preparation of recurring planning, forecast, and reporting deliverables throughout Forecast, AOP, LRP, and quarter-end reporting cycles.
- Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control within finance workflows.
Team Support & Backup Coverage
- Maintain continuity for recurring deliverables during team absence, including market-level subscriber models and SEA performance summaries.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, supporting schedules, data summaries, and analyses used in management reporting and presentation materials.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, data investigations, and special projects as required.
Education/Qualifications:
- Graduate from accredited university and qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant / CIMA / CPA or equivalent)
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting
- Previous experience with an MNC
- Fluency in English and local language
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Streaming and Media Distribution viewed favourably
