Full description

Golden Palace is a licensed iGaming operator in Belgium and France. Our data platform powers reporting, player analytics, CRM activation, and responsible-gaming monitoring, all built on sensitive, regulated player data where auditability and correctness are not optional.

Today the platform is run end-to-end by a single data engineer. We're adding a Junior Data Engineer to work directly alongside them: you'll take ownership of building the day-to-day data pipelines and reporting models. It's a chance to learn a modern, production-grade data stack, in an environment where doing things properly actually matters.

This is a hands-on building role. You will not be thrown in alone, your work is reviewed, you'll follow established patterns, and you'll grow into more independence over time.

What you'll do

  • Extend source ingestion into the platform, following our established patterns (adding new sources and feeds from our systems).
  • Build and maintain transformation logic across our medallion architecture, turning raw bronze data into clean silver and business-ready gold tables/views in Databricks.
  • Update and maintain Power BI semantic models so business teams get reliable, well-modelled data to work from.
  • Clarify requirements with business stakeholders.
  • Work within our engineering practices from day one: Git, branching, pull requests, and CI/CD, you'll learn these on the job, not bring them.
  • Apply and respect our data quality and governance rules.

What we're looking for

  • Solid SQL and working Python: you can read and write both comfortably.
  • Genuinely curious about data, and careful with it, you double-check your numbers.
  • Comfortable talking to non-technical colleagues about what they actually need.
  • Fluent in French and English (business-facing in both Belgium and France).
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Engineering, or equivalent ; or the equivalent self-taught ability to do the above.
  • This is a junior role. No professional experience required; internships, personal projects, or thesis work in data all count. What matters is the SQL/Python foundation and the willingness to learn our way of working.

Nice-to-haves (any of these is a plus, none is required)

  • Exposure to Databricks, Spark/PySpark, or Delta Lake.
  • Experience with Power BI (or another BI tool with data modelling: dimensional modelling, DAX).
  • Any hands-on time with a cloud platform (we run on Azure).
  • Familiarity with Git and version control.
  • Interest in ML/recommendation systems, or in the gaming industry.

What you’ll learn:

  • A full modern data stack (Databricks, Delta, Power BI, Azure).
  • Real ownership early, in a small team where your work ships to the business every week.
  • A regulated environment that takes data quality and governance seriously, you'll build good habits from the start.
  • Room to grow as the data function grows.

What we offer

  • A full-time permanent contract (39h/week) with 29 days of paid leave.
  • An attractive salary package including a wide range of extra-legal benefits:
  • Meal vouchers, group & hospitalization insurance, company laptop, contribution to internet costs, reimbursement of transportation expenses and a 13th month
  • Up to 2 days of remote work per week (after the onboarding period).
  • Training and personalized support to help you grow and succeed.
  • A stimulating, supportive and dynamic work environment.
  • A workplace where your voice, ideas and talent truly matter.
