What You Will Get To Do
We're looking for an innovative AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of artificial intelligence and automation solutions that transform how we work and serve our community. In this role, you'll combine technical expertise with creativity and collaboration to develop secure, scalable, and practical AI solutions that improve service delivery, empower employees, and drive digital innovation across the organization.

Reporting to the Director, Technology & Innovation Services, the AI Solutions Architect provides technical leadership, solution design, and hands-on delivery of artificial intelligence, automation, and related digital solutions across the Town’s technology environment.
As our AI Solutions Architect, you'll play a key role in shaping how artificial intelligence and automation enhance municipal services. Working across the organization, you'll design, build, and implement practical AI solutions that improve how we work and deliver services to our community. Your work will include:
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise AI and automation solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Services, machine learning, and custom integrations.
- Partner with business areas to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and translate business needs into secure, scalable, and user-friendly AI solutions.
- Build and deploy AI agents, automation workflows, and intelligent applications that integrate with enterprise systems and data sources.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions that align with business priorities and enterprise architecture.
- Optimize AI solutions through ongoing monitoring, testing, prompt engineering, model refinement, and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Data, Business Solutions, Organizational Development, Corporate Communications, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and support successful adoption.
- Develop technical standards, documentation, and best practices that promote responsible, sustainable, and effective use of AI across the organization.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for AI platforms, integrations, and automation solutions.
- Build strong relationships with technology partners and vendors to support implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and champion innovative approaches that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- A university degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 4–8 years of progressive experience designing, developing, implementing, or supporting enterprise AI and automation solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate), Azure AI Services, and modern AI technologies.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, with experience using APIs, integrations, and cloud-based development tools.
- Experience designing AI agents, automation workflows, and intelligent applications that integrate with enterprise data and systems.
- A solid understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and responsible AI practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning in an ever-changing technology landscape.
- Microsoft, AI, Power Platform, cloud, project management, or change management certifications would be considered an asset.
Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$127,432.00 - $144,809.00
