Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Hardware Support Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware, peripherals, and end-user devices while ensuring minimal downtime and high service quality.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, printers, networking basics, and IT support best practices, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Installation & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Assemble, upgrade, and replace hardware components including RAM, SSD/HDD, motherboards, power supplies, and other internal components.
  • Manage hardware inventory and asset tracking.

Technical Support

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for hardware-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware failures efficiently.
  • Respond to user support requests within agreed service levels (SLAs).
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.

Device Deployment

  • Prepare and deploy new computers and IT equipment.
  • Install operating systems, drivers, firmware, and essential software.
  • Configure user devices according to company standards.

Troubleshooting

  • Identify and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and replacement when required.
  • Coordinate warranty claims and vendor repairs.

Asset & Documentation Management

  • Maintain accurate documentation of hardware inventory.
  • Record maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
  • Track hardware lifecycle and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of company assets.

IT Operations Support

  • Support office moves, workstation setup, and hardware relocation.
  • Assist with meeting room equipment and AV devices.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
  • Support business continuity by maintaining reliable hardware availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Hardware Support, IT Support, or Desktop Support.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Dell, HP, or Lenovo certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 installation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI configuration.
  • Experience with printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, LAN, Wi-Fi, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory user management is a plus.
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of hardware diagnostics tools.
