We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Analyst
In this role, you will:
- Partner with business and technology teams to shape solutions that meet business objectives and protect existing functionality.
- Elicit, analyse and validate business requirements for new and enhanced software capabilities.
- Produce clear, complete and testable requirements with strong attention to detail (e.g., user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria).
- Perform holistic impact analysis across processes, data, systems and controls to avoid regressions and unintended consequences.
- Translate business needs into delivery artefacts (user stories, process flows, Confluence documentation, presentations) to support build and test.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, walkthroughs and reviews, driving alignment and timely decisions.
- Communicate analysis outcomes confidently to technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring messages to stakeholder needs.
- Support Agile delivery ways of working, including backlog refinement/grooming, clarifications during development and sprint ceremonies.
- For GCB5 scope: review and approve completed development work ahead of production release and track benefits/outcomes post-implementation.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 7+ yrs experience as an IT Business Analyst delivering technology-enabled change.
- Retail banking experience, including retail products, account opening, operational workflow and business processing.
- Strong domain knowledge in at least one area: Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Payments, or Lending.
- Proven ability to elicit, structure and document high-quality requirements that are unambiguous and testable.
- Strong analytical skills to synthesise complex information, identify impacts and communicate conclusions succinctly.
- Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills across business and technology teams.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including user story writing and backlog refinement.
- Confident problem-solving skills and comfort navigating ambiguity; able to negotiate and align stakeholders on priorities (exposure to HSBC systems is desirable).
