ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As a Financial Data Analyst, you will support our financial analytics team through hands-on data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, and data-quality activities. You will work closely with finance stakeholders, senior analysts, and IT teams to maintain and enhance reporting solutions and provide reliable, timely analytical support.
This role is suited to someone with a strong foundation in SQL and Power BI who enjoys working closely with data, collaborating with business users, and continuously improving reporting systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Power BI Report Support & Development
- Maintain and enhance existing Power BI dashboards and reports used in financial analysis.
- Assist in building new visuals and reports based on business requirements from finance and other departments.
SQL Data Integration & Analysis
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and transform financial data from various sources.
- Support the integration of new data into existing reporting structures, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Data Quality & Monitoring
- Monitor scheduled data refreshes and troubleshoot data load issues.
- Perform data validation and cleansing to ensure accurate reporting.
Documentation & Support
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of datasets, data models, and report structures.
- Provide ad hoc analytical support to stakeholders in finance, ensuring quick turnaround for BaU requests.
Collaboration
- Work closely with senior analysts, finance stakeholders, and IT teams to understand reporting needs.
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to standardize and improve reporting processes.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst role.
- Solid SQL skills, with experience writing queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, including building and modifying reports, DAX, Power Query, and data models.
- Understanding of financial datasets or interest in developing domain knowledge in finance.
- Familiarity with data quality practices and troubleshooting data issues.
- Exposure to Agile ways of working and tools like Azure DevOps is a plus.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, ready to support and learn from more experienced team members.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to spot issues in data and resolve them effectively.
- Comfortable working in an environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent tasks.
- Proactive and eager to improve Power BI and SQL skills in a practical business setting.
