This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst based in the United States.
This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on turning complex data into actionable business insights and scalable intelligence solutions.You will serve as a Power BI subject matter expert, partnering directly with business leaders and cross-functional insurance teams.The role combines advanced analytics, data visualization, automation, and strong business judgment to solve high-impact problems.You’ll work with large and diverse datasets, translating ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches and decision-ready recommendations.A key focus is building reusable solutions that improve reporting efficiency while maintaining high standards for data quality and integrity.The role also embraces AI as a practical productivity and innovation tool, using technologies such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate analytical workflows.You’ll have the opportunity to mentor colleagues, influence BI practices, and help shape how data and AI are used across the organization.

Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and manage sophisticated business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, datasets, and visualizations for complex, large-scale projects.
- Partner with Product, Actuarial & Advanced Analytics, Underwriting, and other insurance functions to gather, structure, validate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Audit, compile, reconcile, and analyze data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across BI deliverables.
- Translate technical findings into clear, practical recommendations for business stakeholders and senior leaders, using accessible language and confidently explaining analytical methodologies.
- Apply critical thinking to ambiguous business requests by identifying the underlying business problem, challenging assumptions, evaluating trade-offs, and recommending scalable solutions.
- Automate manual reporting activities and develop reusable, sustainable BI solutions rather than one-off deliverables.
- Serve as the organization’s Power BI subject matter expert, providing guidance on visualization, reporting standards, data modeling, and BI best practices.
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate analysis, reporting automation, SQL/Python development, documentation, quality assurance, and workflow design.
- Champion responsible AI adoption and identify opportunities to improve productivity and scalability across the BI function.
- Conduct peer reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor less experienced analysts.
- Support the implementation and adoption of new BI practices, processes, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues to continuously improve analytical capabilities and business decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 5–7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related analytical discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, data visualization, and Power BI, with demonstrated expertise as a Power BI subject matter expert.
- Experience with Tableau or other business intelligence platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, Dataflows, Power BI integration, and Python for Fabric Notebooks.
- Strong understanding of database structures, relationships, dependencies, and data architecture principles.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills, particularly when transforming ambiguous business questions into defined, scalable analytical solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence business stakeholders and senior leaders without relying on technical jargon.
- Experience conducting peer reviews and mentoring less experienced analysts.
- Intermediate knowledge of insurance and familiarity with MGA operations preferred.
- Advanced, hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot, including for analysis, report automation, SQL/Python code generation and review, documentation, and workflow optimization.
- Strong prompting and AI workflow-design skills, combined with the judgment to validate and challenge AI-generated outputs.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, charts, and graphing.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in a remote environment.
