This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Client Finance Analyst based in United States.
This role supports the financial management of a diverse client portfolio, combining project accounting, forecasting, revenue recognition, invoicing, and month-end close activities. You’ll work closely with project leaders and finance teams to maintain accurate financial information and ensure projects remain aligned with budgets and contractual requirements. The position offers broad exposure to client finances, from project setup and milestone tracking through revenue forecasting and audit preparation. You’ll analyze financial data, investigate variances, and help translate complex information into clear actions for stakeholders. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also contribute to process improvements and mentor junior colleagues. The role is well suited to an analytical, detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working across multiple priorities. Accountabilities:
- Support monthly project accounting activities, including leading selected status meetings with project managers and maintaining accurate financial trackers.
- Review and reconcile new projects by verifying signatures, revenue types, Salesforce information, milestones, tasks, and applicable intercompany amounts, following up on discrepancies with project leads.
- Review change orders, budget adjustments, carve-outs, and project milestone updates to ensure financial records remain accurate.
- Set up new clients within accounting systems and maintain employee billing-rate mappings while reviewing master service agreements for rebates and discounts.
- Review intercompany revenue and cost transactions, maintain shared financial trackers, and support intercompany contract execution and cost allocation activities.
- Assist with revenue recognition for project revenues, ensuring alignment with client contracts, new contract awards, and out-of-period revenue adjustments.
- Prepare and review monthly project revenue forecasts and compare performance against budgets and plans.
- Analyze project hours and expenses against forecasts, budgets, assigned roles, and billing rates, investigating discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare and review approved client invoices, maintain contract-based invoicing waterfalls where applicable, and follow up on past-due balances.
- Review and submit monthly client accruals, coordinating and consolidating submissions across relevant entities.
- Review business development opportunities and ensure information is accurately reflected across Salesforce, financial schedules, and internal trackers.
- Monitor project costs against contracted amounts and review direct costs shared across projects or clients.
- Track new employees and, where applicable, subcontractor hours, expenses, and billing rates against forecasts and budgets, including future subcontractor cost projections.
- Review expense reports, invoices, and credit card transactions to confirm proper approvals and accurate allocation to billable projects.
- Identify, allocate, and review intercompany transactions.
- Contribute to annual budgeting, P&L planning, ad hoc financial projects, and other department initiatives.
- Prepare and reconcile supporting documentation for annual audits.
- Help develop and implement policies and procedures that improve departmental workflows and financial processes.
- Provide guidance and best-practice support to junior team members while contributing to their professional development and growth.
- Support monthly close activities and prepare required financial materials and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and manage large volumes of financial information.
- Experience with project accounting, month-end close, revenue recognition, or client-facing finance is preferred.
- Agency or professional services experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, interpretive, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability when handling financial information.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated client-service mindset, including responsiveness, professionalism, and respectful communication.
