Now Brewing – Designer, Digital UX & Design
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
At Starbucks, we believe that great design fuels meaningful connections—between customers, partners, and our brand. As part of the UX & Design team within our Digital organization, you will design and deliver world-class experiences across mobile, web, café and drive thru platforms.
Your work will influence how millions of customers interact with Starbucks each day, helping shape the experiences that connect customers to the brand across digital and in-store touchpoints. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to end-to-end design efforts that create intuitive, engaging, and scalable experiences, making it easier for customers to order, pay, earn Rewards, and enjoy Starbucks wherever they are.
As a designer, you will...
- Design intuitive user experiences across app and web, from early concepts and wireframes to prototypes and final designs.
- Collaborate with researchers, product managers, engineers, analysts, and other designers to bring ideas to life.
- Prepare and document design specifications, assets, and interactions to support successful implementation by engineering and QA teams.
- Help evolve and maintain our design system by applying patterns consistently, steward the brand and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate and present design concepts, decisions, and outcomes to a variety of audiences.
We’d love to hear from people with...
- 1+ years of experience designing customer-facing digital products. We're more interested in the quality of your work and how you think about design than the number of years on your resume.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual and interaction design skills, a thoughtful process, and problem-solving ability.
- A customer-centered approach, with the ability to identify opportunities based on user needs and behaviors.
- A collaborative, iterative mindset that embraces feedback and balances customer needs with business goals.
- Proficiency with modern design tools, especially Figma.
- An interest in design trends and the ability to apply them thoughtfully within a brand system.
- Strong communication skills across visual, verbal, and written formats.
Nice to have experience…
- Experience designing for mobile ordering, retail, loyalty programs, e-commerce, or related digital experiences.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Experience creating advanced prototypes.
- Experience designing AI powered experiences and features.
