The Assistant Manager, SWIFT & Cross-Border Payments Regulatory Initiatives is responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic SWIFT and cross-border payment initiatives across the Emirates NBD Group, including international entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Senior Manager, the role is responsible for interpreting regulatory requirements, preparing business requirements, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the successful implementation of regulatory and strategic payment programs.
- The role serves as a subject matter expert for SWIFT standards, SWIFT applications, Payment Hub functionalities, and cross-border payment processes, providing operational, governance, and implementation support across business, technology, compliance, risk, and operations functions.
- The incumbent is responsible for developing and socializing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), coordinating stakeholder reviews and approvals, supporting functional specification development, and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance requirements.
- The role also owns the day-to-day operational support of the Payment Hub, driving continuous enhancements to improve operational efficiency, user experience, system functionality, and process effectiveness.
- Responsibilities include coordinating with local and international stakeholders to standardize payment capabilities across Group entities, promote reusability of solutions, and optimize technology investments by eliminating duplicate developments.
- Additionally, the role supports the governance of SWIFT-related services and commercial arrangements, including the management and reconciliation of SWIFT invoices, budget monitoring, and adherence to the Bank's financial governance and approval frameworks.
- The position is expected to contribute to regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and the Bank's strategic objective of enhancing its cross-border payment capabilities while maintaining robust governance and control standards.
- Successful planning, governance, and implementation of SWIFT strategic initiatives and cross-border payment programs across the Group
- Effective governance and execution of SWIFT, Payment Hub, and cross-border payment initiatives with minimal operational disruption.
- Identification and implementation of initiatives that enhance payment capabilities, operational efficiency, and client experience
Key Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT standards, messaging formats, and SWIFT-related applications.
- Good understanding of cross-border payment infrastructures and market infrastructures.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 migration, payment processing workflows, and Payment Hub architecture.
- Ability to prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), perform impact assessments, and support project delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of banking compliance, operational risk, and governance requirements.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
- Swift ISO 20022 Expert from a recognized institution “SWIFT”
- Led product and process enhancements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
- Assisted businesses in resolving urgent or critical issues related to cheque clearing and payment processes.
- Provided full lifecycle support to clients, from initial business interaction to project implementation and beyond.
- Conducted requirement analysis and review, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Experience in MIS Reporting, Regulatory Submission, Operational Risk and other similar job roles.
- Additional experience in Internal Controls.
