ClearView is looking for a Salesforce Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role covers Platform Configuration/Development, System Administration/Integration/Support, and User Enablement and Adoption. The primary focus will be hands-on platform development and administration/integration, with user enablement and adoption as a supporting responsibility. This position requires the ability to work with minimal direction, adapt to changing demands, and identify opportunities for process improvement. This position will work in our India office but will be responsible for ClearView’s Salesforce platform globally.
Responsibilities
Platform Configuration and Development
- ClearView has locations in Massachusetts, New York, California, United Kingdom, Switzerland and India. This position will be responsible for configuring and maintaining ClearView’s Salesforce org to support business processes across all locations, including declarative configuration of objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, permission sets and reports.
- Build new functionality where it does not exist today to support business development, project delivery, expert network, and finance workflows.
- Develop and maintain custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and the Salesforce APIs where declarative tools are insufficient.
- Apply Salesforce development best practices, including bulkification, governor-limit-aware design, automated testing, error handling and logging, asynchronous processing, code reviews, and source control.
- Maintain release management and change control practices across sandbox and production environments, including testing, deployment and documentation of changes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, implement Salesforce changes within established standards, and document them for ongoing support.
- Annual review of org configuration, technical debt, and license utilization, with recommendations for enhancement.
User Enablement and Adoption
- Partner with business stakeholders and ClearView’s training group to support Salesforce adoption and effective use of the platform.
- Support adoption through clear communication, demonstrations, documentation, and targeted enablement as new capabilities are introduced.
- Develop reference materials, release notes, and office hours to support onboarding, ongoing platform use, and new feature rollouts.
- Work with the Salesforce Architect to share Salesforce knowledge and provide targeted enablement for the Information Technology Team.
System Administration/Integration/Support
- Work closely with other IT Infrastructure and Applications personnel to ensure Salesforce and connected systems are securely designed, deployed, and managed. This includes SSO/SAML, organization-wide defaults (OWD), role hierarchy and sharing rules, permission sets, CRUD/FLS enforcement, Apex security considerations, data access models, and integrations with systems currently in place at ClearView.
- Provide recommendations on changes/enhancements to the above systems to ensure ClearView is using best in class platform capabilities.
- Evaluate and refine existing integrations, data quality, and platform performance/availability.
- Manage Salesforce data lifecycle considerations, including data retention, archiving/purge, data quality, bulk data operations, and how client data is stored or retained in downstream systems and integrations.
- Serve as Salesforce subject matter expert and key technical resource for the platform and connected tools, including data management, reporting/analytics, user provisioning, and AppExchange applications.
- Identify defects and performance issues through testing, monitoring and user feedback, and work with responsible teams to address and resolve them.
- Ensure compliance with ClearView’s IT and data protection policies and follow established change management procedures.
- In the event of system outages or data issues, work directly with the Salesforce Architect to diagnose the issue, manage the remediation process, and document the results.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide technical Salesforce expertise, support platform initiatives, and contribute to the Salesforce roadmap.
- Design and implement standardized deployment and testing checklists for all new Salesforce releases and connected applications.
- Stay current with Salesforce seasonal releases and new platform capabilities and recommend appropriate action.
- Work with the Head of Information Technology to support audit processes related to system access and data integrity.
- As per client MSAs, ensure client data held in Salesforce is protected and ultimately purged as required.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or computer science related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- 4-7 years of relevant Salesforce configuration and development experience.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification or equivalent demonstrated real-world Salesforce development experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business and non-technical stakeholders and support adoption through documentation, demonstrations, and training.

- Possesses excellent collaboration skills for work with various internal team members.
Required Skills/Experience

- Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, automation design, governor limits, platform scalability, and security, including OWD, sharing rules, permission sets, CRUD/FLS, SSO/SAML, and Apex security considerations.
- Experience applying Salesforce development best practices, including bulkification, automated testing, error handling/logging, asynchronous processing, code reviews, source control, and maintainable implementations.
