Senior Project Manager – BioVerse Compliance & Operations (H Level)
About the Role
BioVerse is bp's strategic digital platform supporting regulatory compliance, product stewardship, sustainability reporting, and operational excellence across global bioenergy operations.
As a Delivery Manager within BioVerse, you will be responsible for coordinating and driving the successful delivery of digital products and technology initiatives that enable critical regulatory, operational, and commercial business capabilities.
You will partner closely with Product Managers, Delivery Teams, Architects, Business Stakeholders, Compliance Leads, and strategic delivery partners to ensure successful delivery of business-critical capabilities while maintaining high standards of quality, governance, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
You will play an important role in coordinating delivery across globally distributed teams, managing dependencies across product and technology workstreams, and ensuring delivery outcomes align with business priorities and regulatory commitments.
Key Accountabilities
Delivery Management
Support end-to-end delivery of BioVerse initiatives from planning through deployment, transition, and operational support.
Coordinate delivery activities across multiple product domains including:
- Environmental Sustainability Compliance
- EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) compliance solutions
- US West Coast Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) compliance capabilities
- Co-Processing operations and certification workflows
- Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) compliance and traceability solutions
- Product and feedstock traceability capabilities
- Document Management and regulatory evidence platforms
Develop and maintain delivery plans, release schedules, milestones, and dependency management activities.
Track progress against scope, timelines, and business outcomes, ensuring delivery commitments and compliance milestones are achieved.
Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies in a timely and proactive manner.
Support production deployments and post-release hypercare activities.
Agile Delivery Excellence
Facilitate Agile delivery processes and ceremonies across multiple squads and product teams.
Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and delivery forecasting activities.
Monitor delivery metrics, sprint progress, release readiness, and overall programme health.
Partner with Delivery and Discovery/Product teams to remove delivery impediments and improve team effectiveness.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support delivery best practices across the BioVerse portfolio.
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Product Managers, Compliance Leads, Operations Teams, and Business Stakeholders to align on priorities, delivery commitments, and business outcomes.
Provide regular status updates, risk reporting, dependency tracking, and progress updates to product and programme leadership.
Facilitate alignment across multiple product teams, delivery partners, and business functions.
Support effective communication and coordination between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Build strong relationships across business, technology, and operational teams to ensure successful execution.
Governance & Compliance
Maintain programme governance artefacts including RAID logs, release plans, status reporting, dependency registers, and action trackers.
Ensure adherence to bp delivery standards, security requirements, risk management processes, and compliance frameworks.
Support audit, assurance, and regulatory reviews by maintaining appropriate documentation and evidence.
Coordinate production readiness activities and ensure successful transition into operational support.
Support business continuity, operational resilience, and release governance activities.
Vendor & Partner Management
Coordinate delivery execution across bp employees, strategic partners, and vendor teams.
Support resource planning and capacity management activities.
Track delivery commitments and ensure agreed actions are completed within required timelines.
Promote accountability, ownership, and transparency across all delivery partners.
Support effective collaboration across globally distributed teams.
Product & Technology Enablement
Work with Product Managers to translate business and regulatory requirements into actionable delivery plans.
Collaborate closely with Architects, Squad Leads, Data Teams, and UX teams to manage business and technical dependencies.
Support adoption of modern cloud, data, AI, and automation capabilities that improve compliance outcomes and operational efficiency.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of technology delivery, project management, or programme management experience.
- Experience delivering enterprise digital products or technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and product delivery methodologies.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Data, Architecture, UX, and Operations.
- Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and delivery partners.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering sustainability, environmental, or regulatory compliance solutions.
- Knowledge of renewable fuels, bioenergy, co-processing, or Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) business processes.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, refinery, or operational technology environments.
- Experience delivering document management, workflow, traceability, or certification-related solutions.
- Familiarity with product operating models and product-led delivery approaches.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar delivery management tools.
- Experience supporting cloud, data, analytics, and AI-enabled platforms.
- Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
