Maersk Energy Transition Business Finance (ETBF) is looking for a student assistant to help accelerate the transformation of its financial controlling and performance management processes.

ETBF is an integral part of Energy Transition at Maersk, working to realize Maersk’s ambitious 2040 net zero strategy. With offices in New York, Singapore, Rotterdam, Geneva and Copenhagen, Energy Transition through its Energy Markets (MEM) function is responsible for delivering cost-competitive energy to the group, including but not limited to marine fuel, aviation fuel, and carbon sourcing MEM creates value through asset optimization and acts as a best-in-class fuel supplier to more than 200 ports globally and approx. 750 vessels. We source more than 10 million metric tonnes of fuel annually to Ocean from external suppliers and via our own supply chain. Through our commitment to become net-zero in 2040, our fuel mix will gradually turn green.

An exciting student position based in Copenhagen where you will;

  • Help build financial capabilities required to deliver Maersk’s ambitious 2040 decarbonization strategy.
  • Gain hands-on work experience in the field of financial controlling and performance management within an Energy Trading environment.
  • Get a 15 to 20-hour work week with flexibility as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare performance analysis and reporting for MEM management review.
  • Perform financial controls and identity opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis of MEM financials to support decision making.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver financial process improvements and automations across the scope of Energy Transition

Who we are looking for

  • Last year of Bachelors or starting Masters in September 2026 in the field of Finance and Business or related fields.
  • Passionate about sustainability, global trade and solving complex business problems.
  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using Power Point.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform effectively in an area of high complexity and ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Danish is not required.
