Software Engineer II Java Full stack Developer

Overview: Mastercard’s Network & Digital Payments group creates meaningful experiences for consumers while enabling merchants and issuers to engage in ways not possible in the pre-digital world. The Global Product Engineering team builds foundational payment solutions at scale. The Mastercard Authentication Program owns how consumer authentication works for both in-store and e-commerce transactional use cases. The primary purpose of this role is to develop and deliver authentication products for e-commerce transactional use cases that will drive uptake and penetration for the products and revenue for Mastercard.

Role: What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and own Java-based backend services and REST APIs in a distributed architecture
  • Build and enhance UI applications using Angular, vue and Node.js
  • Own end-to-end delivery: design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation
  • Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing (unit/integration), and automation
  • Drive engineering best practices, including clean architecture, performance optimization, and resiliency
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis across systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions

  • Experience with cloud platforms (PCF, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure)

  • Experience using LLM-based agents for automation and problem-solving.
