As a Data Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing the foundational cloud backbone for Dixstone’s global Data landscape. You will be the brain of our automation strategy, leveraging Infrastructure as Code to build a seamless, secure, and unified digital ecosystem. Your expertise will bridge the gap between complex data sources and scalable cloud platforms, setting new standards for operational excellence and data sovereignty. By ensuring our data infrastructure is resilient, automated, high-performing, and secure your contributions will be critical in enabling the Group to reach a new level of data-driven decision-making and business efficiency.

Role and responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust infrastructure standards on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability (HA), performance optimization, and global scalability for data workloads,
  • Implement IaC solutions for automated provisioning and configuration management using Terraform (or similar solutions, such as Terragrunt and Azure Bicep),
  • Establish and maintain Azure DevOps repositories and CI/CD pipelines for version control, automated testing, and collaborative deployment,
  • Execute security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies (including firewalls, VNETs, and Private Links), ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and organizational policies,
  • Implement technical solutions for automated user provisioning, authentication, and Single Sign-On (SSO) utilizing Microsoft Entra ID,
  • Collaborate with developers to engineer secure connections and integration patterns for data exchange between cloud data platforms and various internal/ external sources,
  • Configure Private Endpoints and Service Endpoints to ensure data never traverses the public internet,
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Cloud VMs, including patching, updates, and version upgrades of applications hosted on cloud infrastructure,
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure health, resolve bottlenecks/ incidents, and perform routine maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime,
  • Conduct regular capacity planning for Microsoft Azure infrastructure, and set up and execute proactive cloud infra cost management to ensure cost efficiency,
  • Liaise with cloud service providers for the deployment and testing of new features, hotfixes, and architectural updates.

Experience, skills and qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Cloud Infrastructure,
  • Deep understanding of data security protocols (Encryption at rest/ in transit, Key Vault management),
  • Proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for scripting and automating repetitive deployment tasks,
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for deep-tier observability,
  • Experience implementing Azure Policy and Blueprints to enforce compliance guardrails automatically,
  • Expertise in designing complex topologies involving App Gateways, ExpressRoute, and VNet peering,
  • Experience with Azure Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel for proactive threat hunting and SIEM/SOAR integration,
  • Understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC2 compliance,
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and automated remediation workflows,
  • Expertise in Terraform/ Terragrunt, Azure Bicep, or ARM templates, and CI/CD orchestration via Azure DevOps,
  • Team-player with ability to continuously prioritize tasks, working in high-pressure environment,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related technical field,
  • Nice to Have: Experience with ERP integrations (e.g., SAP, IFS) and data-specific services like Azure Integration Services or Snowflake.
