Full description

Full-time 37.5 hrs/wk., occasional shifts out of normal business hours, and flexibility to be on call.

Salary: range $56,000 – $70,000. $70,000 is the midpoint of the salary range and is reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience. Internal equity is used in determining the rate of pay.

Hours: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Position Details

The Addison Public Library is looking for someone to join our team as an IT System Administrator to perform day-to-day management of the library’s client devices, servers, and computer network. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, with analytical problem-solving abilities; is service oriented, capable of adapting to a fast-paced work environment; is a team player, willing to collaborate, share, and train. They can expect to spend approximately 70% of work time on managing client devices and responding to IT tickets. They also assume system management responsibilities, with plenty of opportunities to select and implement a variety of new technologies.

What we’re looking for:

  • A person with a positive attitude who is an effective, enthusiastic, and respectful communicator.
  • A person with intermediate-level knowledge of computer networks, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, group policy, Windows operating system, VMware, and MS 365 Administration.
  • A person with intermediate-level knowledge of data backup and recovery.
  • A person with intermediate-level experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or five years of work experience, in computer or information science is required.
  • Completion of (or considerable progress in) A+ and Network+ Certification is preferred.
  • Available for IT network/system deployment, maintenance, and emergencies during evening and weekend hours.
