About InCycling

Every year €26 billion worth of perfectly usable chemical raw materials are getting destroyed, generating millions of tonnes of avoidable CO₂ emissions and hazardous waste, not because they lack value, but because no system exists to capture it. InCycling is changing that. We are building a cloud-native AI-driven B2B platform with deep SAP integration, automated regulatory compliance workflows, and ML-based supply-vs-demand matching for scalable surplus chemical management. We are live with a couple of global DAX-tier enterprise pilot across 10+ production sites in 10+ countries and 3 continents with over 600 tonnes of surplus chemicals already in our deal pipeline. You would be joining at the moment where the foundation you build will define how the platform scales.

Tasks

The role You'll be a second pair of eyes across our software delivery lifecycle, working alongside engineers to build quality in from requirements through release rather than checking it at the end. We're evolving from a continuous-delivery setup with strong automated coverage toward more deliberate quality practices, and you'll help shape what that looks like — including how we make good use of AI in our own engineering and testing work. Over time you'll grow into building automated integration testing across our key seams: platform ↔ ML, platform ↔ SAP, and external seller integrations.

A meaningful part of the role supports our regulatory-compliance work: producing the documented, auditable evidence that shows our ML-based compliance solution does what we claim it does.

What you'll do

  • Partner with engineers to build quality into deliverables across the SDLC — requirements, design, code, and release
  • Plan, execute, and document tests across features and integrations
  • Analyze test coverage and identify gaps, balancing automated and manual approaches
  • Ensure defects are triaged, tracked, and resolved, and that quality risks are surfaced early
  • Maintain traceability between requirements and testing as our practices mature
  • Build up automated integration test coverage over time (platform ↔ ML, platform ↔ SAP)
  • Produce structured evidence to support our regulatory and compliance objectives
  • Help evolve our quality practices, with a focus on integrating AI into how we engineer and test

Requirements

  • Solid grounding in software QA fundamentals — test planning and execution, coverage analysis, defect lifecycle, and traceability
  • Basic test automation skills — scripting in Python or Java and hands-on experience with Selenium (or a comparable framework)
  • Some corporate / structured SQA experience — you've seen how quality processes work in a real organization
  • Comfortable testing APIs and integrations
  • Curious about applying AI to testing and engineering workflows
  • Pragmatic about process — able to add structure without slowing a small, fast-moving team
  • Detail-oriented, willing to raise quality concerns constructively, and able to communicate clearly with engineers
  • Good working English, German is a plus

Nice to have

  • Exposure to regulated / quality-managed environments (GxP, CSV, ISO, or similar)
  • Experience with SAP integrations or ML-based systems
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS)

Benefits

We offer:

  • The opportunity to build a digital platform from the ground up, influencing key architectural and engineering decisions;
  • A small, highly collaborative team, fast decision-making. Direct mentorship from experienced data scientists and engineers (you won’t be learning from docs alone!), direct access to founders.
  • A mission-driven product contributing to the circular economy by reducing waste and CO₂ emissions in the chemical industry.
  • A pragmatic engineering culture with modern tools, including AI-assisted development.
  • A flexible hybrid working setup and a culture built on ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Starting as a 24-month engagement tied to our funding cycle, with every intention of building a long-term journey together as InCycling grows.
  • Urban Sports Club membership as a company health benefit or a mobility budget.
  • Access to corporate employee benefits platforms with regularly changing monthly offers and discounts.

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, who believe in our mission. If you do not match 100% of the requirements, but believe you can do the job, please apply: perfect candidates do not exist, but wonderful colleagues do.
