The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Chef to join their team

  • Status: Permanent Part-Time
  • Location: 3800 Brock St N, Whitby, ON L1R 3A5
  • Expected Start Date: Immediate

Hours: 30 hours biweekly + alternating weekends

The hiring rate for this role is $25.23 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) before starting. Are you willing to obtain and provide a VSC upon hire?

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting. Are you willing to obtain and provide a TB test upon hire?

To be successful as our new Chef, you will:

  • Be a graduate of Chef Training or Culinary Management Diploma from an accredited college
  • Possess a food safety certification
  • Be able to lift up to 35lbs
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Chef role

It would be an asset if our new Chef has:

  • Acquired a Red Seal designation
  • Possesses an understanding of therapeutic diets
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector
