Job Description
Rockwell Automation is looking for a Security Test Engineer - Ethical Hacker to join our engineering team.
The Motion Business is a fast-growing part of Rockwell Automation that develops motion control products such as servo drives, servo motors, and independent cart systems for use in industrial applications. The most common market for these products are in factory automation applications such as packaging machinery, paper converting, printing, web handling, and automated assembly.
Join our team as a Product Security Tester. As part of this team, you will work with modern technologies to security test the best in-class industrial servo drives and software applications. You will perform security assessments by simulating cyberattacks on our products to identify vulnerabilities ensuring we are increasing the security posture of our products and solutions.
You will report to the Manager located in USA and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product development team to improve security design of industrial servo drive products, suggesting ways to improve security and providing technical responses to security queries.
- Application of security tools to evaluate security posture of products.
- Perform ethical hacking to assess the product security posture of hardware and software products.
- Keeping current with the latest testing and hacking methods.
- Maintain current knowledge of security threats and vulnerabilities that could impact products.
- Design and implementation of security test automation to support product DevOps.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering with a computer science emphasis, or a technical degree with a Cyber Security focus.
- 2+ years of penetration testing experience.
- Experience using various programming techniques and scripting languages, particularly Python.
- Familiarity with software security verification and validation techniques such as web application testing, vulnerability scanning, fuzz testing, threat modeling, network resiliency testing and embedded device testing.
- Understanding of security by design principles and fundamental level security concepts
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Master's Degree or Advanced courses in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical degree with a Cyber Security focus.
- Experience programming in object-oriented languages like C++, C#.·
- 1+ years of experience with reverse engineering techniques.
- Experience using software security testing tools such as IDA Pro, Burp Suite, Fuzzer. Security Testing certifications such as Offsec certified professional (OSCP)or HTB Certified Penetration Testing Specialist HTB CPTS·
- 1+ years of experience applying AI tools to find security threats and vulnerabilities.·
- Basic knowledge regarding Container and SaaS (Software as a Service) technologies.· Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP networking models.
- Experience testing wireless technologies – wifi, NFC, bluetooth
