Full description

We have an opportunity for an Integration Quality Assurance Analyst with experience in software testing to join our team at Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) in Winnipeg.

In collaboration with internal and external developers and project leads, you will play an instrumental role in the software development life cycle through testing strategies, plans and scenarios, and analyzing the business and functional requirements. This role is specifically focused on delivering high quality integration with API/Service software applications.

This is a hybrid role, which will work both in the office and remotely from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and maintain integration tests throughout the development lifecycle using both manual and automated testing frameworks.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of automated API testing frameworks within the QA environment, with a focus on Boomi iPaaS integrations.
  • Build and maintain robust automated test suites to validate API functionality, ensure error handling, and verify business logic across integration layers.
  • Create, execute, and manage detailed test cases and test suites; document QA procedures and maintain comprehensive testing records.
  • Work with Azure-based environments to support deployment, testing, and configuration of integration services.
  • Conduct integration and regression testing for web services and integrated applications. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate product demonstrations for stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in Agile scrum ceremonies; advocate for QA best practices and contribute to process improvements.
  • Review software specifications and user stories to define comprehensive test plans aligned with business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Application Delivery team and external partners to ensure testing coverage across integrated systems.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, log and manage defects, and conduct root-cause analysis in collaboration with developers and business analysts.
  • Validate structured data formats, including XML/JSON payloads, ensuring proper schema validation and transformations across integration layers.
  • Develop and execute database validation queries (T-SQL) to verify data integrity across integrated systems.
  • Administer and troubleshoot test environments in Linux, including connectivity, system backups, data setup, and access to integration services.
  • Manage and maintain QA testing environments, including test data, environment configuration, version control, and deployment processes in the QA environment.
  • Continuously develop expertise in software business processes, stay informed on emerging technologies, and apply QA best practices to integration testing.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in API testing and automated testing frameworks.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in software QA, with a strong focus on integration and automation testing.
  • Working knowledge of Boomi Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and its testing capabilities is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in ReadyAPI (including SoapUI), with hands-on experience using tools and languages such as GroovyScript and Bitbucket/GitHub. Experience in Postman is also an asset
  • Strong experience testing within Linux and Cloud-based test environments, including working with SQL and relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with T-SQL and database validation techniques to support integration testing.
  • Working knowledge of XML/JSON, including schema validation, transformations, and API payload validation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environments and experience working with cloud-based integration services.
  • ISTQB Certification (or equivalent QA certification) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced Agile environment.
