Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team!  You will draft, incorporate, edit, review, and publish approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) Changes to the baseline in support of the operations and maintenance personnel performing the SCN mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in accordance with Air Force Technical Order requirements and DoD MIL-STD.
  • Sustain SCN Technical Order Baseline.
  • Create Technical Order redline packages.
  • Participate in Technical Order certification/verification activities.
  • Incorporate approved technical order changes using Arbortext.
  • Review Technical Order changes.
  • Create/edit engineering documentation.
  • Participate in project teams.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project team members to review, create, and edit technical order, engineering documentation, and contract deliverables.
  • Support, coordinate, and schedule project and contract customer meetings.
  • Train and mentor other technical writers.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English or a related technical field.
  • Three years of experience or seven years of relevant technical or procedural writing experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with Air Force Technical Orders.
  • Ability to communicate with project managers, government customers, engineering, and logistics staff.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Willingness to learn

Desired

  • Experience in the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of TM-86-01 and TO-00-5-1.
  • Experience with SGML language and Arbortext editor.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$51,800-$106,200
