Summary: As our Senior Finance Analyst - eCommerce, you will own the core financial execution, controls and operational FP&A activities for the global eCommerce business. Working closely with the Associate Director of Finance - eCommerce, you will ensure accurate month-end delivery, robust budget tracking, high-quality financial reporting and effective finance processes. You will provide the detailed financial foundation that enables strong commercial and strategic decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Execution & Month End
- Own actualisation of financial trackers, purchase order approvals and coding, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing.
- Prepare and load month-end journals, including entity recharges and year-end requirements.
- Gather data and supporting documentation for audit queries and resolve routine requests.
- Act as an ERP super user and maintain accurate launch, bundle and pricing inputs.
- Support Accounts Payable queries and provide cover across critical finance execution activities.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting Execution
- Own actualisation and year-to-go updates for assigned budgets, including eCommerce Development & Technology, Marketing, Returns, eCommerce Logistics & Customer Service, and Administrative Expenses.
- Build and coordinate detailed budget submissions for assigned areas, supporting the Associate Director who leads the overall planning cycles.
- Prepare the eCommerce P&L and monthly Finance Review analysis, providing clear first-level variance commentary.
- Prepare weekly Finance reporting and deliver accurate, timely reporting inputs.
- Support Sales-to-Cash and Returns/Refunds reconciliations through accurate data gathering and analysis.
- Complete monthly duty calculator accuracy checks, Returns reconciliations and Customer Service variance analysis.
Tax, Compliance & Financial Controls
- Own the quarterly review of VAT/GST and indirect tax compliance requirements across eCommerce markets, maintaining a country compliance matrix, researching changes against primary tax authority guidance and escalating material risks or registration requirements to the Associate Director.
- Provide VAT filing and data support and action relevant DOR notices and compliance administration.
- Manage coupon code creation approvals and associated controls.
- Maintain contract renewal reminders and perform legal entity checks.
- Support UAT testing with a focus on pricing, validate bundle pricing and coordinate implementation checks for agreed price changes.
Analysis & Business Support
- Provide financial inputs, actuals and underlying analysis for campaign and promotional post-mortems.
- Support detailed financial modelling and analysis for business initiatives as requested.
- Identify process, reporting and control improvements within the role’s areas of responsibility.
- Provide cover for daily sales performance and landing oversight during periods of Associate Director absence, escalating material risks and opportunities to senior Finance leadership.
- 5+ years of relevant FP&A, commercial finance or controlling experience, preferably within Beauty, luxury, DTC or eCommerce.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; a professional finance qualification is an advantage.
- Strong month-end, budgeting, forecasting and P&L analysis experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
