ABOUT THE JOB

Ingenico Android Competence Center (ACC) is responsible for building and maintaining Android-based payment software used across multiple regions worldwide.

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our growing engineering team in Hanoi. In this role, you will play a key role in developing innovative payment solutions while providing technical leadership within a small team. You will work closely with global stakeholders, project leads, QA teams, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality Android applications that power secure and seamless payment experiences.

Beyond hands-on development, you will contribute to technical architecture, mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and take ownership of key modules throughout the software development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications and software components.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, technical discussions, and solution design activities.
  • Collaborate with product owners, project leads, QA engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure software quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to software architecture, design improvements, and technical innovation initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while maintaining system performance and reliability.
  • Support software releases and continuous improvement activities.
  • Mentor and guide team members on technical solutions and development best practices.
  • Take ownership of technical modules and drive successful delivery.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative and learning-focused engineering culture.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Language

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and distributed teams.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • From 5 years of software development experience with strong Android development expertise.
  • Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Strong experience in software analysis, design, and architecture.
  • Experience leading or coordinating a small development team.
  • Ability to mentor and guide engineers on software engineering best practices.
  • Experience owning technical modules/features from analysis, design, implementation, testing, to delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive technical decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payment systems, fintech products, POS solutions, or Android-based embedded devices.
  • Experience working in an international or distributed development environment.
  • Experience working with AOSP (Android Open Source Project), Android customization, or Android platform-level development.
  • Knowledge of Android Framework, system services, Binder IPC, HAL, or Android platform architecture.
