About the Role

This is a founding Solutions Engineer opportunity at a fast-growing, early-stage AI startup in Munich. The company automates quoting and order processing for distributors and manufacturers using AI — helping enterprise sales teams eliminate manual work and close more deals. Backed by top-tier investors including Y Combinator, the team is small, in-person, and moving quickly.

As the first Solutions Engineer, you will own the technical side of enterprise deals end-to-end — from initial demo through to signed contract. You'll sit at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering, shaping how the company wins complex deals and directly influencing the product roadmap.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full technical dimension of every major enterprise deal, from first demo to close.
  • Deeply understand customer workflows to identify and demonstrate the highest-impact use cases.
  • Join sales conversations as the credible technical counterpart on integrations, data, security, and architecture — resolving blockers that stand between a customer and a buying decision.
  • Build demos and proof-of-concepts using customers' real data, proving the product works in their specific environment rather than an idealised one.
  • Feed structured deal insights back to the product and engineering team, distinguishing between demo-only needs, quick customer-specific builds, and core product opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in Solution Engineering, Technical Customer Success, Technical Consulting, or a closely related role.
  • Proven track record delivering proof-of-concepts and live demos on customer data in enterprise sales cycles.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Python; comfortable building convincing prototypes independently.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, system integrations, and enterprise integration architectures (e.g. ERP/CRM connectivity).
  • Familiarity with enterprise data security, privacy considerations, and compliance requirements when architecting customer solutions.
  • Native-level German communication skills; ability to present to senior stakeholders and stay composed under real-time demo pressure.
  • Commercial judgment — ability to read a room, identify the real blocker, and help move deals forward.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Munich in a high-intensity, early-stage startup environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into or working within distribution, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Background at a management consultancy or high-growth B2B SaaS company.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €90,000 – €200,000 annually (depending on experience).
  • Visa sponsorship available.
  • Early-stage equity opportunity.
  • High ownership, direct impact on company strategy, and a clear path to building out a SE function as the company scales.

Location

  • Munich, Germany — on-site, full-time.
  • This is not a remote role; in-person collaboration is central to how the team works.
