At Avaron, you get the security of permanent employment combined with the variety of working at different customers. We place specialists across everything from tech, IT and industry to project management and business support – and whatever the assignment, you have a consultant manager who is there for you and your development.

About the Role

You will step into a key role in a banking environment where transaction monitoring is a high-priority area. The assignment centers on large-scale initiatives that include new data integrations, scenario development, testing and activation across several countries. You will help shape how monitoring models are governed, validated and improved, with close connections to financial crime prevention, regulatory commitments and operational effectiveness.

This is a role for you if you enjoy working at the intersection of delivery, governance and risk. You will have broad exposure across business, technology and compliance, and real influence on how complex model-related initiatives are prioritised and driven forward.

Job Description

  • You will take ownership of governance, oversight and continuous management of transaction monitoring models and related commitments.
  • You will maintain and drive the model management roadmap, turning strategy, risk priorities, regulatory needs and business demands into clear delivery plans.
  • You will lead prioritisation activities across models, balancing risk, validation findings, technical sustainability and available capacity.
  • You will work closely with Capability Leads, Model Owners and subject matter experts to align development, validation, implementation and ongoing monitoring with business goals and regulatory expectations.
  • You will coordinate model validation activities and ensure findings, recommendations, limitations, assumptions and model risks are documented, tracked and remediated.
  • You will collaborate with stakeholders across Model Risk Management, Financial Crime, Technology and Operations to secure shared understanding of validation requirements and expected outcomes.
  • You will coordinate priorities, dependencies and remediation activities across multiple transaction monitoring initiatives to support end-to-end compliance and model effectiveness.
  • You will communicate governance priorities, validation outcomes, remediation plans and key risk decisions to relevant stakeholders.
  • You will represent transaction monitoring models in governance, validation and prioritisation forums.
  • You will keep an end-to-end view of the model lifecycle, from design and implementation to approval, monitoring, change management, periodic review and retirement.
  • You will use validation results, performance metrics, risk insights and regulatory feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You will oversee follow-up on model findings, audit observations, regulatory commitments and risk acceptance actions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Project/Programme Management within banking/financial sector
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams
  • Strong governance, prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering projects in a regulated environment and working with regulatory or audit requirements
  • Ability to manage dependencies, risks, issues and remediation plans across multiple workstreams
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear delivery plans
