About our Client

Our client is building an enterprise-ready AI coworker for procurement, legal, and sales teams. Its platform connects with the systems companies already use—including ERPs, contract platforms, email, and collaboration tools—to review contracts, surface risks, track obligations, and deliver grounded answers with citations to the underlying source data.

Rather than requiring customers to replace their existing workflows, Vallor integrates directly with their technology stack and helps teams automate contract review, negotiation, renewals, compliance, and value recovery.

Our client is an early-stage company with an 11-person team and a highly AI-native engineering culture. As the company expands its enterprise customer base, it is looking for a senior engineer who can combine excellent product engineering with ownership, customer empathy, and strong technical judgment.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer who is highly proficient in TypeScript, strong on the backend, and comfortable contributing across the full stack.

You’ll join a small engineering team and take meaningful ownership of architecture, implementation, and delivery. Your initial work will support an important enterprise customer, requiring you to collaborate directly with stakeholders, translate their needs into product capabilities, and deliver high-quality solutions independently.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys early-stage environments, modern serverless architecture, customer-facing problem-solving, and AI-native software development.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and ship production features across Vallor’s TypeScript stack
  • Own backend services, APIs, integrations, data flows, and serverless infrastructure
  • Contribute to the frontend when needed using Next.js and TypeScript
  • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their workflows and technical requirements
  • Translate customer needs into well-scoped, maintainable product features
  • Communicate tradeoffs, clarify requirements, and push back constructively when needed
  • Build integrations across enterprise systems, contract platforms, communication tools, and third-party APIs
  • Design and maintain serverless, event-driven systems on AWS
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code workflows using SST and related tooling
  • Use AI coding agents extensively to accelerate development and parallelize work
  • Review, test, debug, and improve AI-generated code rather than accepting raw output
  • Maintain a high standard for code quality, security, reliability, and maintainability
  • Help shape engineering practices and technical direction as the team grows
  • Identify opportunities beyond the initial customer requirements and turn them into valuable product improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior or Staff-level software engineering experience
  • Deep professional experience with TypeScript
  • Strong backend engineering skills using Node.js, Bun, or similar runtimes
  • Ability to contribute across the full stack, including modern React or Next.js applications
  • Experience building and operating production systems on AWS
  • Strong understanding of serverless and event-driven architecture
  • Experience designing APIs, integrations, and distributed backend workflows
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code
  • Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous needs into shipped solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Ability to work directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and project ownership
  • Experience using advanced AI coding tools or agents as a core part of daily development
  • Ability to critically review and take ownership of AI-generated code

Strong Advantages

  • Previous experience as a founding engineer or early-stage startup engineer
  • Experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, implementation, or technical consulting role
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers
  • Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure and systems architecture
  • Experience with SST, Pulumi, or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Experience coordinating multiple AI coding agents in parallel
  • Experience building enterprise AI products or workflow-automation platforms
  • Experience integrating with systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake, Microsoft 365, Slack, or contract lifecycle management platforms
  • Public projects, open-source contributions, or code samples that demonstrate engineering quality
  • Experience bringing structure and engineering maturity to a small, fast-growing team

Our client’s AI-Native Engineering Environment

Our client operates in a highly AI-native development environment, with the majority of code produced through AI-assisted workflows. Engineers are expected to go beyond basic autocomplete or occasional chatbot use.

The right candidate will know how to direct coding agents, break work into parallel streams, evaluate generated implementations, detect subtle problems, and ensure that every contribution meets production standards. The engineer—not the AI tool—remains accountable for the quality and correctness of the final product.

What Success Looks Like

During your first three months, you will become familiar with Vallor’s platform and take ownership of clearly defined deliverables for a major enterprise customer. You’ll work closely with internal and customer stakeholders to implement the functionality they need.

Over time, you’ll move beyond the initial roadmap: identifying unmet needs, proposing solutions, improving the platform’s architecture, and helping Vallor scale its product and engineering organization.

Interview Process

The process is designed to move quickly and may include:

  • Initial conversation with Vallor’s leadership
  • Technical conversation with the CTO
  • Final combined interview
  • Review of a project or code sample
  • Professional reference checks

G2i technical, TypeScript, agentic coding, and communication assessments may be used to streamline the interview process.
