New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Chief of Staff by providing analytical, operational, and project coordination support that helps drive strategic business initiatives. This role is responsible for tracking key priorities, analyzing data and performance metrics, supporting cross-functional projects, and ensuring leadership initiatives are executed efficiently. As a member of the Office of the Chief of Staff, the Analyst plays an important role in advancing organizational effectiveness while gaining exposure to executive leadership, business operations, and enterprise strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

Project & Executive Support

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives and enterprise projects.
  • Maintain project plans, timelines, action logs, status reports, and meeting documentation.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify potential risks or delays, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Prepare executive updates, leadership presentations, briefings, and other executive communications.
  • Gather and organize information from multiple departments to support decision-making and project execution.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and professionalism across executive-facing materials.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Compile, analyze, and present data to support strategic planning, business operations, and executive decision-making.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and visual presentations to communicate insights effectively.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and data analysis to support business cases, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentation materials to support Chief of Staff priorities.

Operational & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings, initiatives, and follow-up activities.
  • Support process improvement efforts and maintain project and operational documentation.
  • Assist with the launch and implementation of new projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Office of the Chief of Staff.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Approximately two years of professional experience, internship experience, participation in a leadership development program, or relevant project-based work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maximize productivity, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Other Details:

Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $64,000- $86,500. Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.

This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
