UGL is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Fire Services- to join the team delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Melbourne.

Reporting directly to the MEP Construction Manager, you will take ownership of the delivery of all fire protection works across the project, leading and managing specialist fire services subcontractors from procurement and installation through testing, commissioning and handover.

This is a unique opportunity to work on one of Australia's most technically complex construction projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical infrastructure while leveraging the global expertise of ACS Group, HOCHTIEF, Turner and Leighton Asia. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of fire protection packages across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and coordinate specialist fire services subcontractors to achieve safety, quality, cost and programme objectives.
  • Drive coordination between fire services and mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines.
  • Review designs, identify constructability risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Support inspections, compliance activities, testing, commissioning and final handover.
  • Monitor project progress and provide reporting to the MEP Construction Manager and broader leadership team.
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

About You

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer delivering fire services packages on major construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing specialist subcontractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering projects in data centres, hospitals, defence facilities, airports, laboratories or large-scale commercial developments will be highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced project environment and drive successful project outcomes.
