This is a high-impact individual contributor role with broad ownership and direct influence on e-commerce strategy. This is a Hybrid role based in our Waterloo and/or Toronto hubs. You will be expected to work out of our Waterloo office a few times a month. The rest of the time you will be working from your home office. Position Details
About the role:
- Own ecommerce analytics end to end. Define and maintain the core measurement framework across all ecommerce domains including checkout completion rate, payment success rates, attach rate, bookings, and ARR. Ensure consistent metric definitions, data accuracy, and reliable reporting across teams, dashboards, and business reviews.
- Drive checkout and conversion insights. Partner with the Checkout team to measure and optimize the end-to-end purchase funnel including cart flows, payment method launches, exit intent, and upsell and cross-sell experiences. Conduct deep-dive analyses of on-site behavior to identify friction points and surface actionable opportunities to improve conversion rates across all channels and customer segments.
- Measure and optimize payments performance. Support the Payments team in tracking and improving payment success rates, auto-renewal performance, decline recovery, PSP routing efficiency, and fraud and chargeback metrics. Ensure measurement frameworks evolve alongside infrastructure modernization.
- Support platform and identity analytics. Partner with the Platform team on measuring the impact of identity, authentication, and account management initiatives. Instrument and analyze logged-in user behavior, subscription lifecycle metrics, and entitlement utilization to inform platform strategy and improve the end-to-end customer experience.
- Enable MarTech and personalization measurement. Partner with the MarTech team on the product analytics side, measuring how personalization, messaging, and landing page experiences influence on-site behavior and purchase conversion. Campaign-level performance and channel analytics are owned by a separate marketing analytics function.
- Lead experimentation. Design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests across the checkout funnel, payment flows, messaging, and landing pages. Build a rigorous experimentation framework that enables teams to test confidently and interpret results accurately. Bring strong statistical knowledge including confidence intervals, significance calculations, and lift analysis to every test you touch.
- Own site analytics tooling and data quality. Partner with Engineering and Product teams to define, implement, and validate event tracking across ecommerce analytics systems, ensuring accurate tagging, data integrity, and quality end to end. Collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to build ecommerce data models and maintain reliable, scalable analytics infrastructure.
- Build self-serve analytics and dashboards. Build and maintain dashboards that provide clear visibility into funnel performance, customer journeys, and conversion KPIs. Develop self-serve reporting capabilities that reduce ad hoc requests and empower product managers and business partners to answer their own questions.
- Deliver executive-level insights. Own the analytics narrative in business reviews and leadership forums. Translate complex, multi-domain analyses into clear, compelling recommendations that drive alignment and action at the senior leadership level.
About you:
- 6 to 10 years of experience in ecommerce analytics, digital product analytics, or a related data-intensive role, ideally within a subscription, SaaS, or consumer technology business.
- Deep ecommerce and site analytics expertise with hands-on experience measuring and optimizing digital commerce funnels including checkout conversion, payment success, subscription flows, and auto-renewal. Strong understanding of purchase funnel dynamics, conversion metrics, and on-site customer behavior.
- Strong experimentation skills with demonstrated experience designing and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests using tools like Optimizely or equivalent. Solid statistical foundation including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, lift analysis, and quasi-experimental methods such as difference-in-differences.
- Advanced analytical skills with expert proficiency in SQL and experience analyzing large-scale site datasets. Proficient in Python for analysis and statistical work.
- Hands-on experience working with engineers and product teams to build site event tracking, tag management (GTM), and instrumentation best practices. Experience with site analytics tools (Heap, Contentsquare, or similar) and BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Adobe CJA) with a track record of building dashboards that stakeholders actually use.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data modeling, and site data infrastructure. Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams to ensure accuracy of analytics tooling and pipelines.
