Senior Java Backend Developer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join the engineering team supporting an enterprise digital ecosystem. This role requires someone equally comfortable writing production Java code and communicating technical decisions directly with client stakeholders. You'll be part of a delivery team that owns service design, functional requirements, and forward-looking technical proposals for an active enterprise client.

Requirements:

Must Have

+5 years of experience with:

  • CAMUNDA (BPM/workflow engine)
  • Java 8/9 or 11
  • Java EE (Jakarta): JMS, JAX-WS, JAX-RS
  • Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Core)
  • Wildfly 10.1 / JBoss 7.1 application server experience
  • Active MQ/Google Pub Sub (or comparable JMS broker like RabbitMQ)
  • XML/XSLT processing
  • JAXB, Jackson, JSON serialization/deserialization
  • Apache Ignite (or comparable distributed caching/in-memory grid technology)
  • JNDI
  • Restful Services
  • JavaScript/Python Experience.
  • SQL Experience
  • Scrum

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in retail, fitness, hospitality, or membership-based digital platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment environments
  • Experience with API Management (Google Cloud/Apigee)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services for enterprise ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based APIs (JAX-RS / JAX-WS) consumed by web and mobile-facing applications
  • Implement messaging-driven integrations using JMS and Active MQ for asynchronous service communication
  • Work across the Java EE stack (CDI, JPA, Bean Validation) to deliver reliable, well-tested services
  • Handle data serialization/transformation needs using XML/XSLT, JAXB, Jackson, and JSON
  • Leverage Apache Ignite for distributed caching/in-memory data grid needs where applicable
  • Deploy and support services on Wildfly 10.1 / JBoss 7.1 application servers
  • Use Consul for service discovery/configuration and JNDI for resource lookups
  • Communicate directly with client technical stakeholders to gather, clarify, and validate functional and technology requirements
  • Propose, document, and present technical solutions for current engineering tasks and upcoming initiatives
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions within the SOA ecosystem
  • Support or contribute to workflow/process automation using CAMUNDA
