Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in QA, development, and automation to join the Negative News Screening Squad.

This is a hands-on QA Automation role focused on solving complex testing problems through the development, coding, configuration, and maintenance of test automation programs, tools, and frameworks. The role supports efficient technical testing solutions, a continuous test environment, and a strategic QA framework.

The Automation Test Engineer will work closely with Development and Business Team members based in Mumbai and New York. The role incorporates DevOps, Scrum, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery practices to improve test coverage, identify defects early, and support reliable software delivery.

Software Requirements

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in QA, development, or automation.
  • Experience designing end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience coding and maintaining back-end automation frameworks using Java and Python.
  • Experience coding and maintaining front-end automation frameworks using JavaScript, Angular, Playwright, and Selenium.
  • Experience defining and automating functional tests using TDD and BDD frameworks.
  • Experience with at least one of Concordian, JBehave, or Cucumber.
  • Proficiency in traditional RDBMS schema concepts and SQL.
  • Experience with test strategy, planning, estimation, execution, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of source code management tools such as Git, Perforce, or VSS.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or Maven.
  • Experience working with DevOps and agile methodologies, including Scrum.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Review requirements, acceptance criteria, technical designs, and application changes.
  • Identify suitable automated and manual testing approaches.

  • Certifications: QA, test automation, agile, DevOps, or software development certifications are preferred.
