Kyuden Energy Partners Corporation (KEPC) has a career opportunity for a Senior Operations Project Manager at the Monarch Cloud Campus, located North of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The Monarch Cloud Campus is a mission-critical natural gas power generation facility utilizing 800 reciprocating engines to generate 2 GW of power for cloud and data.

The Monarch Cloud Campus Senior Operations Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, large-scale mission critical data center campus projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and turnover. This role provides strategic leadership across multiple concurrent projects, manages internal and external stakeholders, and ensures delivery of projects that meet schedule, budget, quality, safety, and operational requirements.

The Senior Project Manager serves as a key leader within the team and acts as the primary point of accountability for project execution across all phases of development.

The successful candidate will combine strong project management expertise with operational knowledge of data center infrastructure to support business objectives and maintain the highest standards of availability and service delivery. The individual will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, budgeting, quality, and risk, while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with experience managing large-scale projects in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

Job Summary

The Senior Operations Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and executing strategic operational initiatives, infrastructure projects, process improvements, and cross-functional programs within a mission-critical data center environment. This role serves as a key liaison between data center operations, facilities, engineering, construction, IT, customers, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and with minimal operational risk. The Senior Operations Project Manager will oversee multiple concurrent projects that support data center capacity, reliability, efficiency, compliance, and customer requirements, while driving operational excellence in a 24/7 mission critical environment.

Job Functions

  • Align with Operations Directors to develop, manage, and drive results for strategic business operations program execution, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting targets (safety, compliance, financial/cost control improvements, engineering efficiency, waste reduction, and quality, etc.).
  • Understand all aspects of the Operations and Maintenance Agreements to assist Operations Directors in assuring all contractual obligations and deliverables are being met by KEPC and the Owner.
  • Identify development risks related to scheduling, permitting, and environmental constraints, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Support resource planning and workload balancing across active programs to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, quality, and contract requirements.
  • Support proposal development and strategic growth initiatives related to data center development
  • Contribute to the development of standardized best practices, templates, and lessons learned for data center deliverables.
  • Provide interim management fill-in support when needed to ensure seamless management transitions at the facility level.
  • Perform additional work or take on additional projects as needed or required.
  • Provide strategic support, enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment of business and support functions, while serving as a key liaison among internal teams, and external consultants, agencies, and vendors, to ensure clear communication and collaboration, and successful project execution.

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or related discipline. Work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience working in combined cycle or simple cycle power generation plants, data center operations, and/or infrastructure program management at hyperscale and/or critical infrastructure companies.
  • Must have well-developed budgeting, reporting, and monitoring skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of power plant operations, generation processes, efficient operating practices, and applicable safety requirements. Knowledge of electric generation, transmission, and distribution systems, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and project management skills with the ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and report data; evaluate regulatory requirements; solve complex operational and business challenges; and utilize computer hardware, software applications, spreadsheets, databases, and other technology tools effectively.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Strong ability to build collaborative relationships, align partners, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and contribute effectively within a team environment to achieve organizational goals and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence, including the ability to recognize workplace hazards, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, respond appropriately to audible alarms and changing operating conditions, and perform the physical requirements of the position, including climbing ladders and stairs and conducting comprehensive site inspections.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team environment by leveraging collective knowledge, expertise, and resources to fully understand business needs, develop effective solutions, and support the successful achievement of organizational objectives.

  • 24x7 mission-critical operations environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection and other equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties may be required.
