Digital Product Manager – Commercial Lines

Position Summary The Digital Product Manager – Commercial Lines is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering digital capabilities that improve the experience for agents, policyholders, and internal teams while supporting MMG's Commercial Lines strategy.

This role serves as the business owner for digital products that support marketing, distribution, and underwriting, translating business strategy into product roadmaps and measurable outcomes. The Product Manager balances agent and customer needs, business value, technical feasibility, and underwriting effectiveness to deliver high-impact capabilities.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, data-driven, collaborative, and experienced leading cross-functional teams through modern product management practices.

This role requires travel to our Portsmouth, NH office following a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities Product Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the Commercial Lines digital product vision and roadmap.
  • Align product priorities with corporate strategy, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve agent, customer, and employee experiences through digital capabilities.
  • Define product success metrics and continuously measure outcomes.

Product Delivery

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Write clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Technology, QA, and business stakeholders throughout delivery.
  • Make trade-off decisions balancing customer value, risk, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, and release planning.

Customer & Market Focus

  • Gather feedback from agents, customers, underwriting, marketing, and distribution partners.
  • Analyze customer journeys and identify pain points.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and industry trends.
  • Validate solutions through research, testing, and analytics.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Facilitate alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Build strong relationships with underwriting, marketing, and distribution partners.
  • Communicate roadmap priorities and product performance to leadership.
  • Champion a product mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Data & Performance

  • Define KPIs for product performance.
  • Monitor adoption, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Use data and analytics to inform prioritization decisions.
  • Recommend enhancements based on measurable results.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Digital Strategy, Business Analysis, or related roles.
  • Experience delivering digital products in an Agile environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience developing business cases and prioritizing competing initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Property & Casualty insurance experience, preferably Commercial Lines.
  • Experience with policy administration systems such as Guidewire, Majesco, Duck Creek, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of agent portals, customer portals, quoting, servicing, billing, and underwriting-related digital experiences.
  • Experience with customer journey mapping and design thinking.
  • Familiarity with Agile product management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.).

Essential Functions: The essential functions of this position include leading the Commercial Lines digital product strategy and roadmap to support business goals, partner with internal teams to prioritize, develop, and deliver high-impact digital solutions and use market trends and performance data to drive product decisions, measure results, and identify improvements. These responsibilities require effectively building partnerships with stakeholders across the business, strong communications skills (written and verbal), and ability to use data and business objectives to make informed decisions and prioritize work. Compensation Range: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $110,000 – $135,000. This position may be filled at different levels depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications and the final title, level, and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and overall fit for the role. Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity and market considerations.
