Job Description

Within the South West region, our Infrastructure team has established strong positions across the Transport and Utilities sectors. We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager (Associate Director) to join our busy and expanding Infrastructure team. 

Job Objectives: 

  • To deliver project controls services, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, relating to large, complex and mega projects. Manage the establishment of the overall success criteria for the contract, including time, cost, and performance parameters.  
  • Implement effective project governance, processes and systems throughout the project lifecycle.  
  • Lead and facilitate inputs from cross-functional project controls team in a matrix environment.  
  • Monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve project performance.  
  • Manage change control processes as required. Monitor and advise upon project finances.  
  • Manage the flow of project information from project controls disciplines within the project team.  
  • To act as the key, day to day project team interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and the information that supports projects being delivered within time and cost targets and to the appropriate quality standards is provided in a timely manner.  
  • Ensuring project controls delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment. 

Required Experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience undertaking project control roles for the development and/or delivery of construction projects. 
  • Experience working within planning & scheduling, cost management. 
  • Experience with risk management, change control information management and reporting within complex projects, and integration of same. 
  • Working knowledge of proprietary cost management systems. 
  • The ability to manage and mentor a team of specialists in the above fields, enabling strong training and development for junior staff members. 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Involvement in technical services delivery including supporting the centre of expertise in developing and implementing the PMO project controls service. 
  • Previous experience of working with infrastructure projects; 
  • Previous experience of procurement and managing NEC contracts would be advantageous but not essential; 

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical degree and management qualifications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Predict, ARM and Power Bi would be advantageous.
