As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - AI Solutions & Business Enablement team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your role involves implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's business objectives.
As a React Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, your role will be pivotal in a rapidly expanding global agile team. You will be involved in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, from analysis and design to development and testing, and ultimately delivering an amazing user experience. Your responsibilities will include feature development, performance refactoring, accessibility engineering and close collaboration with a high-performing team to deliver complex UIs with an attention to both performance and aesthetic detail.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Collaborates design and build custom UI components to support various business workflows
- Develops innovative solutions or tools and build automated processes to help streamline both the development of a large and complex codebase and improve the developer experience
- Leverages strong operational skills to develop impactful recommendations on upstream product, process, or policy improvements that will optimize the user experience
- Works closely with the Product team to design, build and deliver capabilities in agile sprints.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product, backend engineers, designers, and data scientists to integrate generative AI into various applications and products.
- Adapts to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on design centric front end software engineer with deep expertise in React.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript and "state management"
- Hands on experience improving and debugging memory and performance bottlenecks
- Experience working with agile methodologies such as Application Resiliency, and Security
- Hands on experience working on a large team of developers in a developing, debugging, and maintaining code
- Hands-on experience in user experience, design-centric approaches, and design principles for developing dynamic and engaging user interface
- Experience with Jest / Vitest and React Testing Library
- Hands on experience in Generative AI and cutting-edge web technologies
- Hands on experienced in using the CLI, git workflow, and CI / CD
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
