About The Role

The UX Researcher owns understanding how customers and internal users actually experience Volta's platform — surfacing the friction points, mental models, and unmet needs that shape a better product. Working closely with design and product management, you will bring rigorous, evidence-based insight into a fast-moving product organisation building genuinely complex infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to establish research practice at an early stage — helping define not just what gets researched, but how research gets done and used at Volta.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research with customers and internal platform users
  • Partner with design and product management to identify research priorities aligned to roadmap needs
  • Run usability testing on new and existing platform features
  • Synthesise research findings into clear, actionable insights for product and design teams
  • Build and maintain a repository of research findings, personas, and user insights
  • Help define and evolve research methods and practices as the function matures
  • Advocate for the user's perspective in product and design discussions
  • Track the impact of research on product decisions and outcomes over time

What You Bring

  • Experience as a UX researcher, ideally on technical, developer-facing, or infrastructure products
  • Strong grounding in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Comfortable researching complex, technical workflows and translating them into clear insights
  • Experience partnering closely with product managers and designers to shape roadmap decisions
  • Excellent synthesis and communication skills, able to make research findings actionable
  • Self-directed, comfortable establishing research practice in a fast-moving environment
