The Senior Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for the design, development, and implementation of advanced control and power monitoring systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to ensure our solutions meet business objectives, technical requirements, and industry standards.
This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of PLC programming, control systems, industrial communication protocols, and power monitoring technologies.
The Sr. Solutions Architect serves as a key technical resource and trusted advisor for Vertiv customers. They will be responsible for providing technical insight for the Software Monitoring & Controls business along with supporting a combination of Vertiv direct sellers and sales offices. In this role, they will also maintain relationships with key customers to land strategic projects, increase spec position and drive Vertiv ™ Unify sales growth. The Sr. Software Architect will also assist with the development of concept power and thermal architectures, technical guidance for selection of best fit product ratings, creation of concept single lines and virtual/in-person design reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and define scalable, robust and secure architecture for PLC-based control and power/thermal monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with Software and Controls sales team.
- Provide large project specification CDE review & completion.
- Evaluate and select the appropriate software frameworks, tools and technologies to align with the company’s product roadmap and customer requirements.
- Serve as a technical mentor to the software development team, providing guidance on architecture, coding standards and best practices.
- Work closely with Vertiv engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of software with power, thermal and prefab systems
- Oversee the integration of PLCs, HMIs, Gateways and SCADA systems with power and thermal monitoring hardware.
- Establish frameworks for system validation, testing and compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL).
- Drive innovation by staying up to date with emerging trends in industrial automation, IoT and power systems.
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance, scalability and efficiency of existing systems.
- Create general industry awareness through attendance at industry events.
- Educate Vertiv selling entities on application focused system architectures.
ESSENTIAL
- Electric or Electronic Engineering Degree or equivilant experience
- Knowledge of SCADA and PLCs
DESIRABLE
- Previous sales experience
