Full description
The world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join the band in a consultant assignment. The client has transformed music listening forever when launched in 2008.
Period: ASAP start. Full-time assignment for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
About the role
We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to own our client's go-to-market messaging and positioning across the entire user lifecycle: from the moment a product builder signs up, through activation and expansion, to sales-assisted enterprise deals. You'll touch every layer of go-to-market: the in-product copy that drives conversion, the enablement materials that equip the sales team, the competitive narratives that differentiate us, and the community that keeps practitioners coming back.
You'll sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing. You'll need to speak to engineers as a peer, make deeply technical concepts land with non-technical buyers, and keep up with a product that ships continuously.
What you'll do
Self-Serve Journey & Growth
- Define and evolve the messaging strategy across every stage of the self-serve funnel: signup, onboarding, activation, and tier upgrades.
- Collaborate with Growth Marketing to turn roadmap priorities and experiment hypotheses into compelling messaging. You're a strategic thought partner here, not a brief-taker.
- Write, test, and iterate on copy for the moments that matter most: first-run experiences, activation triggers, paywall prompts, and contextual in-app messages.
- Own the messaging across email, push, and in-app surfaces, ensuring it stays aligned with Confidence's voice and current positioning.
- Analyse results from messaging experiments and campaigns. When something moves a metric, help the team understand the positioning reason behind it, not just the number.
Launches & Competitive
- Lead cross-functional launches for new Confidence capabilities, coordinating across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Develop and maintain competitive intelligence on the product intelligence and experimentation landscape and translate it into battlecards, positioning guides, and sales plays.
- Maintain a central messaging resource (voice guidelines, segment-level positioning, proof points) that Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams all reference.
Sales Enablement & Field
- Equip the sales team with persona-specific value props and talk tracks for engineering leaders, product leaders, and data/growth leads.
- Produce and keep current the core enablement library: pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and demo scripts.
- Design and run sales plays and regional programmes that accelerate land-and-expand within target accounts.
Community & Advocacy
- Contribute to a community programme aimed at product builders and engineering leaders, creating spaces for peer exchange and long-term advocacy.
- Source and package customer stories, migration narratives, and experiment results into reusable proof points.
Who you are
- You have 4-6 years of product marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or a product-led company, with proven impact on user activation, conversion, and sales alignment.
- You've owned messaging for a self-serve or PLG product and can point to work that moved users from free to paid.
- You write tight, clear copy and can distill a complex feature into a single sentence that lands.
- You have good instincts for positioning. Given a user segment and a product moment, you know which angle will connect.
- You'd rather ship a version and learn from it than spend weeks perfecting a brief.
- You've embedded messaging into product and growth team workflows without needing to own their roadmaps or systems.
- You can take technical material (experimentation, feature flags, sequential testing, analytics) and make it resonate with a non-technical audience without losing accuracy.
- You've built enablement materials that sales teams actually use.
- You're curious about performance data and dig into why certain messaging outperforms.
Nice to Have
- You've marketed to developers, engineers, or technical product builders before.
- Hands-on familiarity with lifecycle or CRM platforms like Braze, Klaviyo, or Customer.io.
- Comfortable with growth metrics and experimentation concepts (PQLs, activation rate, feature adoption) so you can hold your own in a room.
- Experience with competitive intelligence in the product analytics or experimentation space.
- You've created messaging resources that multiple teams adopted and used independently.
- You've helped grow a developer or practitioner community, whether through content, events, or advocacy.
Top 3 Skills
- Product Positioning: Translating complex, technical solutions into simple, high-converting value propositions.
- Copywriting across PLG onboarding, lifecycle campaigns, in-app surfaces, and sales enablement.
- Agentic Workflows: Utilizing AI and automated processes to scale GTM execution and market analysis rapidly.
