CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Data Warehouse & BI Engineer.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Data Warehouse & BI Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC preferred; Corning, NY also preferred. Remote candidates will be considered.

Pay Rate: $58.62/hr.-$78.83/hr

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Description

The Data Warehouse & BI Engineer will design, develop, and support data warehouse, business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions that enable operational visibility and data-driven decision-making. This hands-on role will work across business and technology teams throughout the full solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Microsoft BI technologies, SQL Server, T-SQL, ETL, data warehousing, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI. Experience supporting manufacturing systems and operational analytics is highly preferred.

Requirements:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
  • Gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop T-SQL stored procedures, functions, queries, and scripts.
  • Design, build, and support ETL processes for data integration and transformation.
  • Develop and support Power BI, SSRS, and other reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, stored procedures, reports, and integration processes.
  • Collaborate with DBA teams on database performance, query optimization, indexing, and tuning.
  • Develop data migration procedures and scripts as needed.
  • Contribute to data warehouse architecture and technical standards.
  • Maintain code in source control and follow SDLC standards.
  • Support operationally critical initiatives and global project timelines as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
  • Strong T-SQL development experience, including stored procedures, functions, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience developing data warehouse, ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI/dashboarding platforms.
  • Experience working within an SDLC environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or factory-floor systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with Camstar or other Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Experience with MES, CMMS, SPC, OSI PI, or similar manufacturing systems and data models.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Experience with TFS, GitLab, Git, or similar source control platforms.
  • Understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems, cubes, and complex reporting/information models.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and BI architecture best practices.
  • Experience supporting analytics in regulated or operationally sensitive environments.
  • Ability to travel 0–25% domestically and internationally, as required.
