JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, the Network Engineer will support Mission Produce global networks and server infrastructure for cloud environments, ERP systems, offices, data centers and remote sites. Perform routine administrative tasks such as patching and hardware upgrades/replacements, monitoring network services, responding to break/fix and support requests submitted in ticketing system. Works closely with IT Network Engineering Manager, Mission global IT groups with projects that include additions, expansions and be able to make recommendations for implementing new solutions and improvements. Work closely with vendor support and outside contractors seeing resolutions to open tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of technical and supportive tasks related to networks, servers, workstations and peripherals including, but not limited to, the assembly, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware equipment and software.
  • Manage and maintain all access layer network devices in Mission’s global enterprise.
  • Plan, install, configure, and maintain local area network switches and wireless network.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance, updates and patching to address security concerns and vulnerabilities applying best practices.
  • Manage routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, wireless Access Points.
  • Work as a member of a team and use established standard operating procedures in the conduct of daily duties.
  • Ability to read, create, or edit technical procedures and drawings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of work experience, education, and training.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Network Administration managing routers, switches and wireless networks.
  • Hands on experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Cisco data networks and wireless networks.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS, including routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers.
  • Strong knowledge configuring VLAN’s and understanding of STP & RSTP.
  • Hand on experience troubleshooting L1, L2 & L3.
  • Ability to configure network devices using the CLI.
  • Experience with IP networking design and operations under RFC 1918 including subnetting, VLSM, and CIDR notation.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of well-known protocols and services: DNS, DHCP, LDAP, RADIUS, TACAC+, AAA.
  • Ability to travel if needed to other remote sites.
  • On-call and ability to work hours outside normal business according to business needs.
  • Assist and works closely with IT Network Engineer Manager in configuring, implementing, and maintaining network connectivity.
  • Ability to travel if needed to remote sites in different geographical locations.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing, food processing and cold storage environments.
  • Ability to lift and rack IT equipment such as routers, switches in data centers and networking IDF's.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Salary: $97,766 - $122,207/year
