Full description
The Data Scientist performs analysis of multiple data sources using statistical analysis and computer science to solve business problems. Able to communicate analytical results generate improved business decisions and profitability. Uses data mining tools and programming languages to prepare data for analysis and business decision making. Delivers analytical and commercial solutions for internal and external customers. Combine business requirements and existing process and data knowledge to create analytical solutions.
This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience needed to operate independently with limited guidance and oversight. Applies a new perspective on existing solutions to solve complex problems. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact a range of customer, operational, process, or project activities. Develops work plans for short-term assignments of moderate complexities.
* This position is required onsite 4 days per week, typically Monday- Thursday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead statistical analysis and build models for various and complex business problems.
- Lead the analytical design for complex problem solution, taking input from others.
- Lead the development of projects with multiple statistical deliverables leveraging business and technical expertise.
- Lead statistician on business or technical domain
- Contributes to code repository and improves the coding of others.
- Able to analyze and prepare complex and new data sources and incorporate into analytical solutions.
- Evaluates the technical work of peer statistical analysts, guiding them on deliverable quality and accuracy.
- Communicates results to stakeholders and mid-level leadership, able to communicate business impact of work.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- MINIMUM: 4 yr degree in a STEM field with 2-3 years of highly relevant experience. Qualified candidates with only a bachelors are exceptional. Familiarity with statistics and machine learning concepts is essential OR
- Master’s degree in a STEM field with 1-2 years of work experience OR
- PhD in a STEM field with 0-1 years of work experience
- PREFERRED: Master’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years+ of relevant experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
Must be proficient in at least 3 of the 6 tools: Spark, Python, R, SQL, Git Version Control, AWS/Azure/GCP
