REPORTS TO:

Quality Supervisor or Manager

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Quality Receiving Inspector I will support the quality department’s goals by inspecting both incoming and outgoing material for quantity, quality, and conformance to specifications and/or other applicable requirements. In this role, the Quality Receiving Inspector I will uphold Toray’s quality standards which are set in place by the organization, the customers and management.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Receiving Inspection:

Test, inspect, package and label incoming raw materials as designated

Perform visual inspection of materials based on requirements and ensure standards are met

Communicate incoming issues to purchasing, production and quality based on inspection results

Document inspection results in a quality database according to procedures and work instructions

Perform other duties as required by quality management including, but not limited to rework, filing, special testing etc.

Verify labels and documentation as designated

Safety:

Follow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)

Properly dispose of hazmat waste

Maintain a clean working environment through “clean as you go” mentality

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

Less than 1 year of experience working with composites or in productions or quality

Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.

Basic computer skills (MS Suite) required

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English

Must be able to follow instructions in SOPs and customer specifications

Understand basic laboratory terminology

Understand weights and measurements in metrics and standard units (with the ability to execute a conversion from one to the other when necessary)

Able to work and communicate as a team

Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner

Excellent attendance: ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts when needed.
