What you'll be doing

The US Change Initiatives Business Effectiveness team helps bring structure, consistency, and continuous improvement to how change initiatives are managed and delivered. As an Analyst, Business Effectiveness, you'll support the team’s day-to-day portfolio management and operational activities, including the project intake process, oversight meetings, and documentation management. You'll help maintain strong governance practices by supporting data quality, records retention, and risk management activities. You'll also contribute to process improvement efforts that strengthen how the team works and how change initiatives move through prioritization and approval processes. Working closely with business, technology, and support partners, you'll help create a well-organized and effective environment that enables successful delivery.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Portfolio coordination - Support portfolio management activities by helping administer the project intake process, preparing materials for oversight forums, and coordinating key change initiative meetings.
  • Process improvement - Identify opportunities to improve workflows and contribute to solutions that are efficient, practical, and aligned with applicable policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Operational support - Maintain and organize key team documentation, including procedures, onboarding materials, job descriptions, inventories, and shared presentations.
  • Governance and controls - Help ensure required artifacts are complete, accurate, and stored in the appropriate repositories while supporting data quality, records retention, and risk-related activities.
  • Partnership and communication - Act as a reliable partner to business units, technology teams, and support teams by providing clear communication and helpful guidance through established processes.

Who you are

  • You have relevant experience. You bring 0-3 years of experience in project management, process improvement, business operations, or a related area, ideally within financial services.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating issues, reviewing information for accuracy, and using insights to support better decisions and stronger processes.
  • You're motivated by collective success. You build collaborative relationships across teams and work effectively with business, technology, and support partners to move work forward.
  • You know that details matter. You produce high-quality work, stay organized, and help ensure documentation, records, and reporting are accurate and complete.
  • You can demonstrate experience in project management principles, process improvement practices, and Microsoft Office. It’s an asset if you have experience with portfolio governance or change initiative oversight in a banking environment.
  • You have a degree/diploma in business, finance, project management, or a related field.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
