Job Purpose:

The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting Sr. Financial Analysts and CFOs with accurate and detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support both internal teams and clients. This role is pivotal in providing clients with crucial information to make informed business decisions by delivering financial insights that are data-driven and aligned with their strategic goals. The role focuses on providing actionable financial insights, fostering client relationships, and maintaining the highest levels of integrity and excellence.

The successful Junior Financial Analyst will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and multiple deadlines, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and continuously seek opportunities to optimize financial performance. The Junior Financial Analyst will operate within the context of the various enTune Playbooks to ensure continuity of services and internal collaboration between enTune team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting.
  • Analyze client financial statements and performance data to provide actionable insights.
  • Assist with the development of financial dashboards, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist in the development of monthly client reporting packages.
  • Conduct monthly working capital analyses for FP&A clients - review AR, AP, and collaborate on how to improve cash flow and return on assets.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist Fractional CFOs, Sr. Financial Analysts and clients in developing and maintaining their annual budgets, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals.
  • Create and maintain financial models to forecast future revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of 13-week cash flow forecasts for clients.
  • Work with client teams to adjust forecasts based on actual performance and updated business assumptions.

Strategic Consulting:

  • When applicable, assist in the arranging of capital (debt or equity) for clients, including presentations, financial analysis and reaching out to potential sources of capital.
  • Assist with client business valuations using the enTune business valuation model template.
  • Support Sr. Financial Analysts and Fractional CFOs in Mergers and Acquisition integration analysis and implementations.
  • Assist in ad hoc and ancillary financial and operational analysis as requested.

Client Communication & Relationship Management:

  • Assist with the presentation of financial insights and reports to clients, ensuring they understand the implications for their business.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Financial Analysts and Fractional CFOs to proactively identify financial risks and opportunities for clients, providing recommendations for improvement.

Process Improvement & Technology Integration:

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the financial reporting and analysis processes.
  • Leverage cloud-based accounting software and other technology tools to drive efficiency and enhance the quality of financial data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across all client engagements.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with Sr. Financial Analysts, Fractional CFOs, Financial Services Managers (FSMs) and other team members to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Ensure consistent updates and communication of Sr. Financial Analysts, Fractional CFO efforts in support of a client to the supporting FSMs and FSAs to ensure the supporting team as a whole is aligned and aware of client support activities
  • Provide support to the client accounting team on financial matters, ensuring seamless integration of FP&A processes into the overall client service model.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new Insights clients by providing financial insights and helping establish clear reporting expectations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • University level of experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience working in a client-focused environment.

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or other financial modeling tools.
  • Proven experience in large-scale data processing and management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com) is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of core finance and accounting principles.
  • Functional familiarity with balance sheets, income statements, accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting terminology (professional certification is not required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement interdependencies and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills.
