Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Security Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Sydney, Australia.

Key responsibilities:

The Security Systems Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery support of security systems, including:

  • Translating system engineering and product inputs into security system designs and implementation arrangements
  • Supporting the specification, configuration, and deployment of Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, CCTV equipment, and associated security systems infrastructure
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, configuration records, and design inputs
  • Supporting procurement and technical evaluation activities for security systems equipment and services
  • Configuring security systems in accordance with approved design, product standards, and project requirements
  • Supporting integration with related project systems, external interfaces, and internal Hitachi Rail business applications
  • Planning and supporting factory testing, site testing, commissioning, defect resolution, and handover activities
  • Providing technical support during deployment, commissioning, and early operations
  • Maintaining configuration control and design consistency across all security systems deliverables

Key skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in security systems engineering within complex infrastructure or rail environments
  • Strong practical knowledge of Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, CCTV design, configuration, deployment, testing, commissioning, and integration
  • Ability to support system integration, interface coordination, and site implementation activities
  • Experience producing technical documentation and supporting procurement and delivery activities
  • Understanding of configuration control, testing processes, and commissioning requirements
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in engineering, security systems, information technology, or a related discipline
